I live on the lake in Westlake Village, one of the great things, I was told, when I moved in here about 6 months ago, was that you can take your boat our and putt over to the “Landing”, hitch your boat up there, and have dinner at one of the 3 restaurants there. Well I love, love, love Italian food so I was excited to go to Boccaccio's at the Landing.
Well, I have been there three times now, I have never been able to eat there.
Two times, we arrived at 9:20 on a WEEKEND evening. We walked in and stood there for several minutes. Not one person came up to us and asked us if we could be helped. When I finally approached a waitress (a 40-something woman with Blonde hair) she promptly told us the “kitchen was closed”. No Apologies. Great. We walked out.
Went back a few weeks later, same exact time. Same thing.
The funny thing was that both times there were still tables full of customers sitting inside and out. All eating. They very easily could have accommodated us, but I guess they wanted to go home.
The third and final time we went back, it was a little earlier in the evening. We waited inside, nobody came up to us as usual. When I approached the waitress, I asked her if we could sit outside. She promptly said “no”. No further explanation. I guess it was too difficult to turn a heat lamp on and place a table setting for us. Just amazing. We thanked her and walked out.
I will never be going back.
