Heartfelt condolences for all who have lost their loved one due to AMC's negligence and I write this to serve as a warning for anyone considering going there. Avoid this place at all cost &I mean that literally! At best, this place is a research lab filled with very young & inexperienced people. The AMC is the absolute *worst* in customer care for the family & your loved one. Their outrageous fees for the heinous services rendered is disgraceful! It is hard for me to believe that the people in this facility ""care"". My cat was having a hard time breathing & I needed them to help him breath better. They took an x-ray, w/o my consent & proceeded to talk about polyps, cancers, tumors & what my wishes would be for resuscitation. Wtf! I ended up leaving that night w/my cat only to return 4/21 b/c my vet was away ?til 4/24. He was put in the ICU. I left food which was never given to my cat & the only thing the ""Intensive Care Unit"" did was give him saline to keep him hydrated. They had me in such a state I felt coerced to keep him there all the while my trust in them continued to wane. Please note, I understand erring on the side of caution. I understand that they are open 24 hours. I understand that they have all the necessary equipment available to them & I even understand & accept that this is some of the reasoning for the cost. What I do not understand is the ineptitude. What I do not understand is how in good conscious you can charge for services that have not been rendered & in some cases do harm. I guess I'm lucky because they did not hurt my cat. As it turns out they could have at least given him saline nasal drops or neo-synephrine to help alleviate the difficultly in is breathing. He has seen his vet and is on meds & doing well. I will never ever be returning to the AMC. I will go & refer others to NYC Veterinary Specialists. I imagine they will be probably more expensive but if that means we will be treated properly then it's worth it!
Cons: Top dollar for inexperienced poor service
