My friends and I have been going to the Boardwalk for years now and I can always count on having a great time there. Yes it is fairly small inside and 18+ which means the 21 and o...

Love it 11/12/2005

The Boardwalk is a great, smaller venue for gigs. They feature a lot of indie or lesser known bands, and you can't beat the ticket prices. We recently saw The Horrorpops there for $12! Can't beat that. Security was good, but not an overwhelming presence. The sound was great, and the atmosphere is just really good. more

Blood Sweat & Tears 8/18/2005

The Boardwalk, a bar/music venue in Orangevale, is by far one of the rattiest places you'll enter. It is dimly lit, even in the middle of the day, and it is always hot, especially on summer nights. When attending, dress lightly and wear something that breathes, because it'll be at least 20 degrees hotter in there than it is outside. Lots of great bands have toured through there like The Used and Taking Back Sunday. You'll see signed guitars along the walls and posters everywhere else. They have a large merch table in the back that supports all the bands easily and they have a little kitchen where they make fries and burgers. The stage area has a low ceiling and overhead fans that dangle only feet above your head. This place does get rowdy though, lots of hard metal/screamo bands come through here and the crowd does go wild. There are frequent pits and fights at the Boardwalk which always results in people being thrown out. So if you're looking for a little excitement in you're music, go to The Boardwalk more

More Than Meets the Eye 8/8/2005

The Boardwalk is one of the best places in town to grab a drink or two and listen to some great local music. Occasionally they will also have larger name bands playing, but on those nights, they generally charge a larger cover charge. The atmosphere is really laid back and the crowd can really vary in age depending on the bands playing. The place is usually pretty crowded, so I'd suggest getting there early if you want to get a good spot. The drinks are fiarly priced and don't take too long to get. more

Great Great Great 7/23/2005

I like this place alot. I only go here for the concerts and music they play. Everytime I'm there I have an amazing time. They always have great local or small bands playing here. They charge a small cover charge, but most places do now a days. The outside of this place looks run down, but don't let that scare you away. The inside is great, the drinks are great and the music is always great. more
