From Engagement parties to Anniversaries 12/27/2006

Logan Niles is one of the best chefs in New York City. From our engagement party with eclectic appetizers and desserts to my bridal showers full of petit fours and cream puffs to our wedding with the perfect Italian menu and then to all four of our anniversary dinners -- Blue Nile Catering is wonderful. She is a ""no party too small or large kind of woman"". She was able to not only please Ken and myself, but our families from all over the country. And her hand made chocolates were to die for! They were the PERFECT wedding night treat! Hopefully Logan will be catering all of our big life events! Thank you Logan for your professionalism, attentive staff, incredible attention to detail and wonderful food! Pros: Wonderful Food, Attentive Service! Cons: None! more

Terrific Election night party 11/13/2006

I hosted an election night dinner and party and immediately called Logan. She was thoughtful and responsive in her questions and suggestions about what foods would be the easiest for the 25 folks I was entertaining that night. She even came up with the inspired idea of putting campaign art on the cookies or dessert! The food was amazing and the service was outstanding--from arrival and set-up to clean-up, Logan and her Blue Nile team impressed everyone! more

My Wedding was Great 11/9/2006

You should know that everyone, EVERYONE, complimented me on the delectable food and gold star service. Even though much of the day passed as a blur, I have distinct images of people lifting up their plates and running their tongues alongside them to capture every last morsel. Logan is a true professional. Someone possessed of that rare combination of business savvy, composure, organization, fantastic culinary skills and creativity. Future clients should know that her expertise and know-how preserved my sanity -- what little there was of it. Most importantly, as proprietor and visionary of Blue Nile Catering, she is a true collaborator. Logan listens to what someone believes (s)he wants, and helps shape that formless image into what can genuinely be achieved with style. During the planning process, she was tireless in following up and ensuring that all issues were handled. In essence, she conceived and execute seamlessly. Logan, was an absolute pleasure to work with. Pros: The one thing I didn't have to worry about at the wedding was the catering. more

Pleasure to have in your home 11/5/2006

Logan Niles, the founder and head chef of Blue Nile Catering, is a consummate professional. She listens attentively to what you would like; makes creative and useful suggestions, and then makes an absolutely delicious meal. No matter what the occasion, you will have a wonderful and relaxed time. Blue Nile Catering has catered several meals for our family, including two Thanksgiving meals. The food was always fantastic! Enjoy. Pros: Great food, great attitude more

A menu as unique as our needs! 11/5/2006

Blue Nile catered our anniversary party and met our very unique dietary needs with a fantastic parade of food. Despite our strict guidelines, BN came up with a great assortment of dishes and desserts that kept our mouths watering for more. Besides the great food, their chef was eager to please us on a porfessional level and kept the staff waiting on us hand and foot throughout the evening. I would very much recommend Blue Nile to all of my friends and most definately hire them again for my next catered affair! Pros: Chef understands about special diets, does not skimp on small details. more

Excellent Party People 11/5/2006

We had Blue Nile come to cater a party at our recording studio that was given specifically for our clients. Logan worked very closely with us determining what would be the appropriate cuisine and how best to serve it in our rather limited space. The food was unique and wonderful and the service was friendly while still being unobtrusive. Logan herself was there the whole time making sure everything was done properly...and it certainly was. Everyone was impressed and we got many thank your notes where the food was specifically mentioned. We will definitely use them again. Pros: Great food and service. What more can one want? more

Very positive experiences 11/4/2006

We have used Blue Nile so far for two parties at a very fancy private loft apartment. Logan was great to work with, listening well and tailoring the evenings--food, drinks, and service--to our specifications. She's a sweetheart. And her food is creative, fun, and delicious! more

the best and most creative menu options and presentation around town 11/3/2006

Blue Nile Catering has helped to promote my business by successfully catering all of by business events and tantalizing the palates of my high level client base. Professionalism, quality dishes and service, creativity and raw talent are what Ms. Niles brings to the world of catering, from the smallest of private parties to the largest of corporte affairs. And, if personality were edible, it would be the piece de resistance. Pros: a flair for leading-edge fusion cuisine and eye-catching presentations; anchored in CIA (Culinary Institute of America) tradition and high ethical and professional standards/practices Cons: Since there has never been a problem we could not work out, there are no downsides to speak of. more

Amazing Wedding! 11/3/2006

Blue Nile Catering did an amazing job for us with an Indian-fusion themed wedding in 2004. Our guests still talk about the food, the floral arrangements, and kind, attentive staff....did I mention the food? Logan did a great job of working within our budget, worked great with the church to organize the reception area and gave us exactly what we wanted in a wedding reception. I think you'll be hard pressed to find another caterer who can offer such diverse cuisine choices, present the food in such a creative manner, be able to handle complex arrangements and pull it all off with seemingly effortless ease. Pros: Creative food, amazing presentation, friendly staff. Friends still talk about the wedding! Cons: Can't think of any. more

Avoid for Weddings 10/23/2006

They were hired for a wedding and their service was amateur and unorganized. They thought it was perfectly within the contract to still be setting up tables as guests were arriving and for the bartenders to not ensure they had all their supplies ready and available for guests. The food was served late, items were not replenished in a timely fashion, and the head server threatened the bride to cut her cake before she could gather her groom, family and photographer together as well as they did not serve cake to the guests or to indicate it was now being served. They were not interested in hearing about the issues after the fact. The food is well prepared and unique - but, I wouldn't risk for a precious event like a wedding. Pros: Unique food and well prepared Cons: Poor management and service when it counts! more
