Latonya is by far the most knowledgeable hair stylist I have ever met. \r I was very frusrtated with my hair. I had a lot of breakage and my hair was very dry and brittle. At my first visit, Latonya discussed with me a game plan to getting my hair back into a healthy state. We started from the very beginning. Although, my hair is somewhat shorter than I had anticipated, it looks absolutely gorgeous! \r LaTonya lets you know about all the products that she is going to be using on your hair. One of my pet peeves is when a stylist wants to hide what she is putting in your hair or doesn't want you to know what's in her ""special"" conditioner. LaTonya provides you with a lot of helpful information about keeping your hair healthy. I have been going to Latonya for about two years now and never ever do I leave the shop unsatisfied. She is reliable, patient, professional, and so talented. When you become her customer she makes sure that you leave the shop 100% satisfied. She is so so so talented when it comes to cutting hair and is a bit of a perfectionist (which works in my favor). She can take my thick, coarse, and natural and make it bouncy, soft, and healthy. She will never ever let one her clients leave unsatified and will do whatever it takes to make sure they look amazing when they leave. I have recommended LaTonya to 15 plus people and everyone who goes to her becomes her new client. She makes going to the hair salon and calm and enjoyable epxerience and is by far the best stylist in the shop. In fact she is the best stylist I have ever had. I trust her with my hair cut and my press and know that when I leave my hair will be perfect. Honestly, if you are in Atlanta and want a style, cut, or just a press call Blendz and ask for LaTonya. I have been to Blendz Hair Salon twice once in West End and recently in Midtown. My stylist name is Paula Britt. Each time her assistant is ready to work and have had me ready for Paula to curl me. But doing the 3 plus hour wait after her assistant was done with me, Paula wants to stop and talk to random people. While talking she stops curling clients hair. She can't curl and talk, she has to stop and thats what really slows her up tremendously. Only if she would learn how to walk and chew gum at the same she would be such a great stylist. Until then she really needs to be respectful of one's time. So Paula please respect people's time. Pros: Assistants are great to have........ Cons: Being Prompt on One's Time more

Blendz in my opinion is overrated. Yes, they do nice hair, but I wish their stylists were as organized as their website. Now I have to give you some background on me and my experience before you can judge my review. My hair is natural and I haven't had a perm in almost 8 years. I travel a lot and will travel if I find a phenomenal hair stylist. One of my biggest pet peeves is WAITING! Ok, so I was visiting my friend at Spelman this past weekend and had heard great things about Blendz and was really looking forward to getting my hair done at Blendz. So I checked out the website and made an appointment with TJ on-line. I selected a natural press since my hair is natural. The price for this was listed as $55. A little more than what I pay in Brooklyn, but whatever, I was looking forward to the Blendz experience. So my appointment was at 11:00am. I got there at 10:45am, and was approached by TJ's assistant about 15-20minutes later. (Ok, fine). So I'm taken to the back to have my hair shampooed. So there was another one of TJ's clients who decided she was going to be late and act like it was semi-ok. (not) So TJ's assistant thought it was a good idea to wash both me and the late client's hair at the same time. (#epicfail) First of all, the LC (late client) could have had lice or whatever in her hair and I honestly think this took up more time than if she had washed our heads seperately. Alright, so after sitting under the dryer for about 5 minutes, I was instructed to sit in the front. (Ok, fine) I shouldn't have been waiting for over an hour to get my hair done. (HELLO!) So I finally get in TJ's chair, then I show him a picture I found of a style I liked. Alright, my hair came out lovely...now it's time to pay. $65 dollars later..I was not impressed. And of course he wasn't clear that it was going to cost me an EXTRA $10 to get my hair curled. I didn't like that. Now granted, I probably should have said something, but I really just wanted to get out of there. NOW! So there you have it. I do not plan on returning to Blendz, but if you don't mind waiting to get your hair done, go right ahead because you will be happy with your hair. I know that a lot of people have a hard time finding someone to do their hair, especially if it's natural...but my stylist in Brooklyn does the same job TJ did for much cheaper. Tiffany is my stylist. I have only been going for about two months. Tiffany is the best from what I have seen all of the ladies in there are awesome. On shampoo days I'm in and out in no more than an hour. Tiffany is also very professional. I love the fact that she styles my cut so differently each time that others think I got a new cut. \r \r If you're looking for a salon try Blendz....You will not be disappointed. My visit to Blendz was wonderful! I live in the Lawrenceville/Buford area and I was skeptical about driving all the way to West End! I'm sooo glad I did. My hair was dry, damaged and brittle. I was considering getting a weave. Latonya got my hair back in shape in one visit. The atmosphere was wonderful, every stylist was busy working not standing around chit chatting! I read the reviews before I visited so thats another reason I was skeptical. I didnt experience what some of the other clients experienced. My appointment was @ 10:30 and I was in LaTonya chair at 10:30!!! I I am very pleased and I will continue to drive to West End every 2 weeks to see LaTonya! more

I was able to go get a mani pedi and get my hair done all in one sitting. I recently decided to go natural( going on 6 months) T.J. works the Chi and lays my roots like a pro... Amazing!! No matter the style cut color you want, they are on the money at blendz!! Pros: leave the chair satisfied, great consulations Cons: timeliness, sometimes stylists chilling too much more

I am a former client of Paula Britt's and still love her hair cuts. It was a tough decision for me when I decided to find another stylist. Paula is often more than 1 hour late in arriving to the salon for her opening appointments. By the time she finally arrives more than 1 hr. late with breakfast, donuts or something in hand (had the nerve to stop to buy something when you are already hours late), her early perm/color apppointments are already backed-up and waiting and her shampoo appointments are already dryed and are all waiting to be cut/curled -- thereby throwing off the rest of her appointments for the day. Additionally, while I have never really witnessed her engaging in gossip during my morning appointments, she did indeed stop to chat with alot of friends who simply dropped by to chit-chat, talked on her cell phone alot, and did quite a bit of chatting and laughing with other stylist while a back-up of clients who had already been waiting for 1 to 2 hours sat looking quite frustrated. Meanwhile, Paula just went about socializing as if oblivious to the fact that she was hours late and her clients visibly looked frustrated. My guess is that Paula felt that as long as her clients kept coming -- WHO CARES. I was one of those clients and after over a year and a half of this I decided not to keep coming and spending my hard-earned money with someone who obviously did not appreciate me patronizing their business. There is no reason why a person with a very short spiked mohawk - nothing to curl should arrive for a 9am appointment and spend 6 - 7 hrs at the salon..... no earthly reason. I wish Paula the best and hope that her unprofessionalism and lack of respect for her client's time does not overshadow her excellent haircare and talented cutting/styling techniques.
