Meat: Burnt on the edges - FROZEN in the middle. 6/4/2008

I've gone to the store at 3207 Richmond NE for a few years, but after todays (06/04/08) experience I will not be returning. The meat I was served was - to put it nicely - the worst thing I have ever eaten in my entire life. Pros: Used to be a decent place to eat. Cons: Not anymore. more

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD! 5/6/2008

I went to the one in Alamogordo NM and the cashier was so rude to me that i will never return there again! I had told her that I needed to place 2 orders, she took the first order and then walk away. I waited for her to return to make the other order and when i made the order she was pounding on the register hard like she was angry then the manager told her that she would finish my order because she was angry. i thought every thing was fine until the cashier started saying ""what the hell is wrong with her?"" and ""that stupid white B***H she makes me so mad! I can't believe that she would stand there and and not say any thing about another order. what do i look like a slave? she makes me so mad!"" and the manager said or did any thing! I have never been treated like that in my life! I will never return to Blake's Lotaburger! more

One of the top reasons I miss Albuquerque AND New Mexico, A classic that never goes out of style! 1/28/2007

I was a student back in the mid-eighties and later lived in the NE heights for 2 years before moving away.Countless times I dined at the Blake's on Coors NW (which is now gone-sniff, sniff) and after acclimating my tastebuds to green chiles (being from Michigan), I grew to love the classic Lotaburger w/ green chili & cheese. Last January, I returned just to visit . I drove my rental car up Central and as I pulled into the Lotaburger, I began to giggle foolishly almost like a schoolgirl anticipating my reunion with an old flame. So here I was, once again in the city I once called home with the BEST burger ever made. Over the next 3 days, I ate at various Blakes locations twice a day and left with a long-time itch finally scratched, There are other Johnny-come-latelys in the green chili burger category both in NM and elsewhere but having sampled a wide variety, I can truly say that nothing quite measures up to Blakes. Pros: Food, Service, Value Under Comments if you're a foodie, maybe it can be romantic Cons: none really more

I miss Blake's!!!!!!!!!! 8/10/2006

Blake's is a legend. I'd give just about anything right now for a green chile cheeseburger and a vanilla Diet Coke, along with a side of fries. Blake's is definitely at the top of my list of things I miss about New Mexico! Pros: Great Food Cons: Decor is boring and plastic, but who cares more

waited so long 10/18/2005

well 5 years isn't really that long but thats how long its been since i've been to blakes sigh I miss it more

The *BEST* burger ever! 7/22/2005

It has been 18 years since I lived in Albuquerque, and I miss many things about it but the green chili cheeseburgers have to be at or near the top of the list! IF you are traveling on Interstate 40 through NM you MUST stop and have one of these. I""m outta here! Peace! :) Pros: casual atmosphere, quick service, bang for the buck Cons: busy at times, only in NM more

Hamburger 10/7/2004

The best way to have a Lotaburger is to order it this way. Lotaburger with double meat double cheese green chile french fries coke They are made fresh when you order, not before. Best hamburger I've ever tasted in the USA Andy Garcia more

great burgers! 6/11/2003

I have lived in Albuquerque for almost 20 years and i must say Blake's is one of my favorite places to eat. The decorating is not much to look at in any of their restaurants, but no matter what you get there it will not only taste delicious, but it will be exactly what you ordered! more

That makes me SO Homesick! 1/20/2003

Ask any (non-vegan) New Mexican expatriate what he/she misses most about the state and somewhere in the list, you'll undoubtedly find a Blakes Green Chile Cheeseburger. It's usally the first place I visit for lunch whenever I return.. Having moved the California, In N Out burgers are a fair substitute, but NOTHING in the world compares to a Green Chile Cheeseburger and Chocolate Coke. Anyone be willing to FedEx me one sometime? :o) Pros: Fresh, Tasty, Traditional Cons: Addictive, Addictive, Addictive more

Over done shoe leather 1/18/2003

These are the worst hamburgers that I know of anywhere. They always over cook the patties to the point of being no better than a thin, tough and nearly charred piece of shoe leather with a beef flavoring. They compensate for the lack of adequate meat by usinghuge buns and and piling on the lettuce with some tomato, pickles and onions. To make matters worse the staffs at each location can rarely get an order correct the first time. Pros: Lots of condiments, lots of bread, lots of veggies Cons: over cooked meat, small patties, poor service more

Fresh & Tasty 1/5/2003

Although ambience is not its strong suit, this local burger chain sells a delicious product. The Itsa Burger is my favorite, a medium sized burger which can be accented with green chile or cheese. The fries are real, not extruded and the service is quick. Best in Burque!! Pros: reasonable, good parking, quick service more

The BEST. Why not in So Cal???? 12/19/2002

Blake's Lotaburger are truely the best! I was visiting Farmington, NM this Thanksgiving ('02) and stopped at this roadside burger place because of the noticeablely large crowd of customers. I discovered what seems to be another New Mexico best-kept-secret: Customer service was polite, patient and friendly. The burgers here are simply the best. After enjoying the 'Lotaburger Special' I really felt I had a worthwhile and tasty meal. We in Southern California need this burger chain. I'm sure it would give In-N-Out a run for its money. When in New Mexico make sure you don't forget to stop in at a Blake's Lotaburger. Pros: Friendly& Trustworthy, Watched cooks prep, Large, Tasty & Fresh more

Overated 12/19/2002

I have been at Blakes about 3-4 time since moving here. Your ratings a re abit over done.. I have had better. What's your criteria or standards in the rating process? Thanks EHN Pros: reasonable, accesible, quick Cons: freshness, flies, atmosphere more

great burger in a lotabrger 12/13/2002

Ive been eating lotaburgers for the past 40 years and my stomach has not complained once. double meat ,cheese, and greenchili. can't beat it. I lived in lasvegas nv. for the past 14 years. [I previously lived in N.Mex for36 years.] But every time I return to NewMexico {Grants] the fist place I stop at is Blakes Lota Burger. Or when a family member goes to or returns from N.Mex. They will bring back a Lota burger. Pros: inexpensive, great burger, good locations Cons: need coupon deals, no weekly specials, move to LasVegas NV. more

WHAT ABOUT REX'S 12/12/2002

While Blakes has a good burger, I strong disagree that they have the best in town. And also not on the list is REX'S HAMBURGERS, which is by far the best place for hamburgers in town. Pros: Good Value Cons: Service, Employee Attitude more

lottagreatburger 12/5/2002

I have been eatting at these LottaBurger places since I was a child, now that I live in North East Texas I have to drive 12 hours to get one of these great burgers. I would love to see this chain of restaurants move into Texas. Top of the line burger chain. Pros: food, service, cost Cons: location, no english speaking more

Want a real burger? 11/14/2002

Always consistent with a good honest burger, of course I always add green chile. They have changed their chile supplier the last year or so and it shows. The chile has a good flavor without being very hot; before you could barely taste it. Look and see, the cooks have hairnets and honestly try to keep your food clean. That is better than some of the other fast food places. more

lhcfafa 10/26/2002

Good burgers, clean restaurant. Worked there, eat there! Make sure you get it with green chili. Restaurant is clean and servers are friendly. Pros: excellent burgers, good french fries, excellent onion rings Cons: not in arizona more

savory 10/25/2002

The Green Chili Lotaburger is the absolute best ever, fresh made to order, it is huge and hard to finish in one sitting. The ambiance is a throwback to the 60's The onion rings are pretty good too Pros: inexpensive, plenty of locations, good menu Cons: not fast food, made to order, too much lighting more

Still think about it 10/25/2002

I have not been to Albuquerque in a long time, but everytime I am there I HAVE to stop at Blake's and have a Green Chile Cheeseburger. This is simply the best burger value I have ever had. more
