Great Vet! Doc Blais really bonds and connects with my pit-bull Chester.\r Doc really cares about my pet and what is best for him. There really is a difference taking your pet to an AAHA accredited vet clinic. The staff is really nice and very caring. I would recommend Blais Vet to all my friends. more

We first found Dr. Blais and his caring and incredible staff a few years ago when our dog, Honey got bit by something on her paw. Her paw was swollen, red, and sore. She could not put weight on it. Her regular vet at the time was not able to fit her in for an appointment even though it was an emergency, as this was late afternoon and they were booked. When talking to them they said that the oozing would work out and I could wear a big plastic collar on her for about two months to stop her licking her paws. I wanted her to have relief so we looked for a place that was open. We tried one ""vet clinic"" in Indiana and the receptionist was rude and the vet standing there was also rude and said they ""guessed"" they could see her but it would be an emergency appointment, and it was close to closing..and when I say rude and unconcerned for my sick dog who was waiting in the car, that is an understatement. They were so rude I left. I wouldn't have wanted them to treat me. We then looked online and found Dr. Blais, we called and they said they were open and to bring Honey right over. Dr. Blais has a special connection to animals. He understands them and talks to them in a way that I have never before experienced with any other vet. It is a true gift. He treated her and healed Honey's paw with some Chinese herbs and in two days she was as good as new. He has been our vet ever since and Honey loves him and the staff at Blais Veterinary Clinic. They take excellent care of her and our cat. I highly recommend them and would never think of taking our pets any place else. I give them the highest rating! more

Dr. Blais and the staff at Blais Vet Hospital are absolutely wonderful. They have always been caring, compassionate, and accommodating - fitting in appointments with a difficult schedule or with short notice. They express genuine concern over the animals, and when one of my cats was facing a terminal illness, they were incredibly comforting throughout the process. Dr. Blais has a way of handling the animals that shows his primary concern - he'll often talk to her directly when the cat is being fussy, and he provides clear explanations of everything that's going on. The caring and professional staff are wonderful! My dog Moochie loves going to Blais. Moochie actually doesn't want to leave. Dr. Blais is very knowledgeable about the Chinese Herbal Recipes, too. I like a more natural way to go for the health of my pet, and Blais Vet provides that for Moochie. It is really great to have a more holistic approach for the care of my baby Moochie. Doc Blais and staff are amazing! If you want your animals to receive the best care than you will take them there; they treat the dogs like they are their own. Our family dog, Rex, was not himself and was not wanting to eat or run and play like he use to. We called Blais Vet for an appointment and Dr. Blais recommended acupuncture and Chinese herbs. We followed his recommendation and within a week Rex was perking up and starting to eat. Dr. Blais recommended the ""Hot Dog"" diet, too, and it really has no hot dogs in it at all. It is a very nutritious recipe. With the acupuncture, herbs, and the ""hot dog"" recipe, Rex, was back to his self in about three weeks. He is eating and running and playing like he use to and enjoying life! If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I would not have believed the mixture of success the acupuncture, herbs, and hot dog diet has had with Rex. Excellent experience and would highly recommend. Our dog Chewy was very sick and lithargic all of a sudden and I called Blais and Karen answered the phone and told us to come right in. We were greeted by two vet techs, Misty and Joaquin, to help us bring in Chewy as he was unable to walk and is a laborador a rather big dog and heavy. We were rushed into the exam room and they started working on him. Dr. Blais came in and spoke to us. Dr. Blais' professionalism and caring demeanor was really nice for our family to experience during this difficult time. Dr. Blais had Chewy up and running in days. Recently our dogs were playing , and they got their collars stuck...well in the process of pulling away from each other one of the dogs hurt her neck..she was panting, whining and running around trying to hide..well I called Blais..and the receptionist was awesome...it was a Saturday and the Dr. wasn't in so she referred us to A Vets in Monroeville..where we went, excellent place also. Well end of the story is that Blais called us back to make sure that our dog was o.k....plus in the mix of this I called another vet service....she says to me""""well what do you want me to do"""" really more money or not I want to go to the pet friendly people...I would totally recommend Blais.and all the receptionists should care like she did!! more

We ALWAYS talk to the animals who come through the door. They are treated. as if they. were our own . 1st impression , new to indiana from NC- wont return - rude receptionist! - shabby grounds and shabby building - worn -out look - smelled horrible of smoke - no-one said a thing about my pet when i walked in - weird vibe from vet, seemed angred - was mean to nurse -i wanted 2 leave then but he had already given 2 shots n didnt tell me wat they were - he grumbled n then walked out -could hear him yelling outside room, never came back - went to pay n bill was like almost $300 for three shots, stool check, n being treated nasty! going to new vet in town for boosters! Really bad vet place...stay clear! more

My cat Tiger was hit by a car and I called Blais and they took me to come right in. When I arrived the techs took Tiger right into the exam room and Doc Blais arrived immediately. They took x rays and kept me informed of every move they made with Tiger. They called me before they did the surgery and as soon as he was out of surgery to let me know he was doing well.I was able to go visit him and when I picked him up they advised me of Tigers after care instructions for his broken leg and his scraps. They even called me after I took Tiger home to see how Tiger was doing! This vet hospital is like a REAL human hospital! In many ways, BETTER! My dog Gizmo got into a fight with an opossum and he had several lacerations on his body along with a large cut over his eye. I brought him in to Blais Veterinary Hospital without an appointment they were pretty busy but they immediately took him to the treatment area where the techs stopped the bleeding and kept them comfortable until Dr. Blais could take a look. The receptionist apologized to the people in the waiting room explaining that there was an emergency and they didn't seem to mind. They cleaned him up and stitched the area over his eye and another wound on his side and gave him some antibiotics and something for pain. Gizmo was pretty shaken up but Dr. Blais' warm and caring attitude made him feel better. The techs were awesome coming out every few minutes to me in the waiting room to tell me how he was doing and kept me informed of what was going on. The next day a member of the staff called to make sure Gizmo was doing OK and I received a call a couple of days later to che more

Hershey Posted on 05/07/12 Thank goodness for Acupuncture!! Our chocolate lab is almost 13 yrs old. She suffered some type of seizure and lost the use of her back legs. Our regular vet was not available, so we called Dr. Blais... The staff was so caring and concerned and they made us their first available appt. Not long afterward, they called and got her in sooner. We carried our 72 lb. dog into the office. After xrays and numerous questions regarding her characteristics and traits, Dr. Blais suggested acupuncture! With little to go on other than a steroid shot to ease her pain, we made the decision to try it. Within an hour the treatment was complete and Hershey walked (very gingerly), but walked out of the hospital! The entire staff was so compassionate and made Hershey feel as calm as possible during this very stressful afternoon. Two days later, we got her another acupuncture treatment and she seemed like her old self again! The very next day she was able to go up steps on her own, she regained her confidence and wasn?t shaking anymore. One more treatment the next week and Hershey walked around that hospital like she owned the place! All the while, the lab tech (Deb) would call and check up on Hershey. We can only say the best things about Dr. Blais and the entire staff. You gave us back our Hershey!! She even got into our pool for a swim! Thank you, thank you to the Blais Vet Hospital... Our 10yr old dog Molly had been to 2 other area vets because she had a serious problem with her stool. They would put her on the famous boiled hamburger and rice and an antibiotic. Well after a month of that (which it did not clear up) I came home after work and Molly could hardly walk. I called her regular vet and he was off for the week hunting. So I called Blais Veterinary and let me tell you I talked with Bill and he was so compassionate and caring and was able to get Molly in the office within 30 minutes. Molly has been overweight her whole life and I have tried lots & lots of dog food and she would develop gas or the be so uncomfortable from a belly ache. So Dr. Blais (my hero) asked so many questions about Mollys condition and did a very very through examine. The diagnosis was that Molly was a "Hot Dog" meaning most of the "junk" I was feeding her made her belly hot which in turn created all the other symptoms she (and I) was experiencing. This diet fits Molly perfectly, she has lost 4 lbs in the last 3 weeks and she is so much happier. She used to sleep 80% of the day and now she sleeps half that. Molly is more alert, her skin and fur feel so healthy and she is just the in the best condition since starting this journey with the hot dog diet. I give the diet 5 STARS and Dr. Blais and the staff well 5 BIG STARS they are the BEST, they truly care and they are dedicated to the well being of animals. My dog Cheerio loves going to Dr. Blais. His relationship with her is outstanding! The care that she receives and the attention is impeccable. I have never seen a more efficient vet hospital than Blais Vet. I use to think it was just my Cheerio, but I have sat in their crowded waiting room and watched the love that is given to each pet that comes through the door.
