I hired James of Black Cat Flooring to do my hardwood floors based on great reviews. What a mistake! He completed the kitchen, dining room, living room and hallway, but on the third coat left really thick coats of seal all over so I have yellow streaks all over my floor. He arranged to come out and fix it and also to do my smaller downstairs room. He also put the hardwood in the next room and then never came back to sand it or seal it. After several attempts of calling him and setting appointments that he didn't show up for, I've had to get estimates to finish what he didn't. I only had $250 left to pay him and it's going to cost me $2000 to clean up his mess. Basically, he knew how much work it was going to take and the $250 just wasn't worth it to him so he never charged me the remaining amount, but I'm out the $2300 I already paid. I highly recommend searching elsewhere for a reliable contractor that has integrity, takes pride in his or her work and will finish what they start. My experience with James showed a serious lack of character.
