Food is good and not too spendy plus the restaurant in general is loud so I don't think incremental bachelorette noise would bother anyone and you're in Belltown-close to many good bars & clubs. more

Check out Black Bottle on 1st and Vine in Belltown ! We stopped by and had wine and the BEST flatbread ever and I do mean ever ! We had the smoked chicken and dried cherry with gorgonzola. Nothing is over 8 Dollars. Save room for desert ! Oh...and ladies... the lighting is just perfect. more

I was here once and I was impressed with it enough to go back again this weekend! The Scene--The overall vibe is dark and upscale minus the steep prices. The bar is small but the crowd is pretty laid back. The Appetizers are often the best things on a menu, and serves nothing but, with each plate large enough to share with a group of four. Some of the dishes I sampled are: Curried potatoes pack a peppery punch. Plump grilled sardines shimmer in Portuguese seasoning, while steak with Japanese radish make an unusual but satisfying pair. Of the crispy flatbreads, the prosciutto and bechamel is a favorite. Don't forget to try the mussels! And here's the topper: All dishes are affordably priced. And if you're a wine lover, this place has an extensive list of wines for you to try. more

This "gastro-pub" is great for first dates or dates with spouses, groups, friends, etc. It's not especially romantic, and I mean that in a good way. The food is delicious--the hanger steak and seven-spice shrimp should not be missed. The wine list is thorough and considerate (amazing how hard this can be for restaurants). It's modern enough that you feel like you're "going out", but it's comfortable and very reasonably priced. We've had nothing but professional and pleasant service. And it's open late! Last time we were there we saw Tom Douglas eating at the bar. I don't think he's reviewed it on Judy's Book. Black Bottle and Lark are by far the two best new restaurants in Seattle, in my hungry opinion. more

We went in a large group so we were able to try just about everything on the menu. I would recommend staying away from anything seafood -- the clams, mussels, octopus and salmon were all over cooked and chewy -- but there are a lot of other tasty things to try. My favorites were the prosciutto and bechamel flatbread, the pork tenderloin and the flank steak. The desserts were pretty good although we didn't try the chocolate cake with ice cream which looked delicious. The prices are very reasonable for the portion size ($8/plate for main dishes, $7/plate for desserts). They have a good wine menu at reasonable prices (<$30/bottle). The wait staff was a bit flaky and inattentive and there really isn't enough space to stand while waiting for a table, but the overall experience was good and I would definitely go back for the flatbread. more

The Black Bottle--Belltown's newest culinary addition is a winner. While they don't take reservations (a dissapointment when you travel in larger groups), they were able to accommodate our party of 7 after only about 15 minutes at 7pm on a Friday night--not bad. The restaurant offers a selection of small plates all at $8. We were advised to order only 1/person plus one by our waiter. This was completely off. We ended up ordering about 2/person plus dessert (perhaps we're big eaters?). Our favorites were the Pork Tenderloin, the steak and the Bechamel & Prosciutto flat bread. Don't bother with the squid, clams or mussels. The Tiramisu and Bananas Flambe were also a tasty way to finish up the meal. The drawback--the staff. The waiter seemed to forget about us several times and the bartender did not feel that courtesy was part of her job description. Other than that--a good first impression, we'll be back. more

I am not a huge Belltown enthusiast. I don't like to wait in line. I don't like to pay covers. I don't like to be overcharged. However, Black Bottle, is probably the best place in Belltown. You can tell that they put a lot of thought and effort into the winelist, and the prices are as reasonable as restaurant wine gets. I walked in to Black Bottle soon after it opened. There were only a few people at the bar. "I need to use the bathroom" I said as I breezed past the customers and bartender on my way to the back. I walked straight back out the door afterwards, saying thanks on the way. This is what I call a good customer experience. I firmly believe that being nice will pay off in the long run. more
