Bj's Wholesale Club Inc

This happened at the Deptford, NJ store. Back in '97, I was a mom of 5 kids and shopped in this store frequently. I had a husband who was self-employed and a mess with money. He's now my ex-husband. I had written a check for groceries and ordered a birthday cake and picked it up a few days later with another check. Even though my husband said there was money in the account, there wasn't. The checks bounced and they gave me 10 days to pay. When I finally had all the money, including bank fees and store fees, it was the eleventh day and even though I went to the store to pay it they wouldn't take it and filed charges. I was a normal person, not a criminal, just buying groceries for my family and believing what my husband said. The jerk wouldn't even go to court with me and I was very intimidated when I got there and plead not guilty then a DA pushed me into pleading guilty to a lesser charge. Now I have a record. I would not do the same again and would stand up for myself. Even though I had 6 kids altogether I never shopped in a BJ's again but I spent thousands and thousands of dollars at Sam's Club, Walmart and many grocery stores. I was so traumatized it has taken me this long to talk about it. more

I like to go shopping at my local BJ's to see what new stuff they have in. The carry a big selection of toys clothes and house hold items and food. My wife likes that the offer coupons and you can bring your own coupons also and use them. What I don't like much is that alot of the items you can buy other places for cheaper when they are on sale. I wish BJ's would run sales like supermarkets and put out a weekly flier with there specials. I also think that if they are going to charge you to shop there that most things should be cheaper then shopping at your supermarket or Walmart and Target. more

I like to shop at Bj's they have a big selection of products ranging from electronics, seasonal items food and furniture. Although alot of there stuff can be bought at the supermarket for sometimes cheaper you need to wait for the sale and shopping at Bj's you don't have to wait for the sale. I also like that they take coupons and also that they give you coupons to use at there store. more

I am there every week to purchase food, water, cleaning products, snacks, baby formula, toiletries, batteries, everything. The prices and convenience can't be beat. It is a pain to have to show your reciept when you leave, but all the warehouse stores make you do that, so I'm used to it. more
