Our small UW Alumni tour group visited Turkey for two weeks enjoying deliciously rich and healthy Turkish dishes across the country. We held a reunion at Bistro Turkuaz where the food was even better than what we had in Turkey. Each course was perfectly prepared with a variety of tastes: soft warm pita with dips, hummus, olives; marinated carrots, dolmas, fresh green salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, berries, olive oil; rice, tabbouleh, giant kabobs of deliciously seasoned beef, lamb, shrimp and traditional meats followed by bakalava for dessert and Turkish tea. The chef tells us that she changes the menu to include other favorites. Everyone was personable and the evening was spectacular.
