Bird Hut is the one store that sells birds that does not get birds from what is often called 'bird mills'. The owners get birds from the people that come in to buy birds and bird supplies for the most from them. For the most part when they take in new birds, they in insist that they are weened, and will not sell any bird that is unweened. 18 months ago, I got a bare eyed cockatoo from them. At the time that I paid for her, she was unweened, and even with my hand feeding experience, I was not able to bring the bird home until she was completely weened for at least 2 weeks. Anyone that wants a bird, should go into the Bird Hut and ask questions to be sure that they are suited for birds, and that it is a job they want to take on. Another thing that Bird Hut has done for me, they have placed special orders for me when I have requested it. If you are not a bird person, this is okay, but there are those that are, and will stand by their friends.
Pros: they know birds, and are very informative
