Billingsley's Restaurant

Went in on a Saturday afternoon when the restaurant was empty, we were the only 2 people there and the service was horrible. The waitress was rude, never checked on us after the food was brought to the table and we were missing parts of our meal. Never came back to refill drinks, just showed up, dropped of the check. Didn't clear our plates or offer dessert. She was in a rush to get back to standing around and talking in the bar. Worst waitress EVER. more

My sourdough meltie with bacon, avocado etc. was yummy to say the least. My puppy was having an exam across the street and so we walked to Billingsley's. Pros: A strong Bloody Mary on a Saturday afternoon... yes please! more

This place, as it's been said, is not the most attractive looking place, but DON'T LET THAT FOOL YOU. THIS PLACE IS GREAT! They poor a strong drink, especially if they get to know you. The garlic bread MUST be a mortal sin, because it absurdly good, as well as free-flowing (they give you as much as you want). This is not a squeeze bottle restaurant; it is a down-home, old school dive. I HIGHLY SUGGEST the pork ribs; I get mine with sauce on the side, because the ribs really stand-up on their own. Chili is darn good, baked potatoes are jammin', salads have the option of green goddess dressing (yum), and the EARLY BIRD SPECIALS are a steal. Give this place a try! I've been coming here for about 15 years, since I was a kid, going with my grandparents. They have the best fried shrimp and it always goes good with french fries. The most unique thing about the restaraunt has got to be the Green Goddess salad dressing. There have been times where I have strictly gone there to pick up a cup of the dressing for my own home use. You can't get it anywhere else and it makes any salad. I'm not much of a salad person but if it has the dressing I will lick the bowl clean. Another good thing about the place is the tinted lighting, you feel very comfortable in the dim lighting and it's fun to look at the fish tanks if you sit near them. The waiters are hosts are cool people and I would recommend the place to anyone. If you're going with another person or with a group, you can't go wrong, I hope the place stays open for a long time. Where else in this world has fresh green goddess? This place isn't much to look at but it is great. The food the drinks it's kitschy. The have a $16.95 dinner special and it is like a step back into a time warp. The food is good and the drinks are great. They have a few blue hairs but it really is fun. more

It's like the restaurants my grandparents would take us on Sundays after church. When we need some old-fashioned martinis, liver and onions, or yankee pot-roast and potatoes, this is where we head! more

This is a great place to go and kick back, relax and enjoy all kinds of food. Every dish seems to be one that will stick to your ribs, warm you up and make you relax. The cozy atmoshpere is more of the 70's basement with all the panelling and wood. I felt very comfotable and at home in this place. The food is not what you would call creative or distinct but, it is good, standard food with a great feeling to it. Here's a simple, down home, straighforward, nothing fancy place for good food and value. But you's expect nothing less from the sons of Leave It To Beaver's Mom Barbara BILLINGSLEY. I dined with a busy exec who was relieved to find a place where one could talk in peace and relax. And this was ion a Friday night! My prime rib was perfect and my friend's shrimp scampi was also appreciated. The place is dark with leather booths...very 1970s. Friendly service! I was looking for a great piece of beef with hometown supper club atmosphere. This is extremely difficult to find in Los Angeles. But I found it!! And only 2 miles from my house. No frills, no hype, just good food with great service. It's was great to go out on Friday night in casual dress, have 2 great apple martinis and a steak cooked to perfection with intense flavor. It's true the crowd was mostly senior citizens but that just adds to the history of the place. The prices were great for the quality of food. The entire experience brought me back to my small hometown in Montana. It made me realize, you can take the girl out of Montana but you can't take Montana out of the girl. Pros: flavorfull beef, excellent value, attentive service Cons: nothing, it was well, worth the money more

The atmosphere is totally 1950's, which is very cool. This might be a good spot for a romantic dinner. Note though, most of the patrons here are older...you won't feel out of place or anything, but just something to know ahead of time, so it will not be a surprise. The food is average...that's not say it wasn't good, it was. That's not to say I did not enjoy it, i did. That's not to say I would not return, i will. All that means is the food is your average steakhouse fare, nothing special or spectacular. The early bird dinner menu (served 7 days a week) has some great choices on it and it a good value for the money. Definetely worth a stop, give it a try. My boyfriend and I eat here all the time. We love to go between 4:30-6:30pm during their early dinner specials where you can get soup or salad, side dish, prime rib, and dessert for $14.95. Billingsley's is known for their apple martinis and if you're going to eat salad, ask for the green goddess dressing! The restaurant hasn't changed sinced it opened 50 years ago. The crowd is mostly senior citizens, but us early 20's couple love to dine here because the food is very afforable and the service is great!! Also try their Country style porkchops, it's delicious!
