We walked in with the intention of purchasing a used car, and with a loan in our pocket.
We walked out with no car, and the distinct impression that the salesman thought we were a joke and wasting his time. We had difficulty convincing him to allow us to sit in, much less test drive, the vehicles that WE were interested in; not just the vehicles that HE thought we could afford.
Also, we had the luck of needing a vehicle immediately after a nasty April ice-storm. Would it be too much to ask for an ice scraper? Apparently so, especially in comparison with where we DID purchase our vehicle; we waited half an hour for someone to find a scraper here. In contrast, where we actually purchased, our salesman had us wait inside while he went outside, started it, and scraped it.
