Bijou Bridal & Special Occasion

I visited Bijou today for the 1st time. This was my 1st time looking for a gown anywhere. I can't believe I bought my dress today. I wasn't sure if I should have committed to a gown on my 1st shopping trip, but I just absolutely knew that was my gown and the staff made was so professional and made me feel so comfortable that I just knew it was the right choice! This place was huge, had a great selection of dresses, and a very experienced and professional staff. more

I was in a real bind and bijou came to my rescue. I became preggers and was going to be 6 months pregnant at the time of my wedding. I called bijou to tell them about this but they said it was too late to cancel my dress order but the said not to worry that they will make sure the dress fits me beautifully. To be honest I really didn't believe them. I was super worried and even started looking to buy another gown that would fit my ever growing belly. Well I went in for my last fitting this week and I can't even believe it is the same dress. My seamstress completely reworked the dress to accommodate my belly. You can barely even tell. They are really amazing and do good work. Now I can sleep at night and I can't wait to wear my dress down the aisle! more

Went to pick up a bridesmaid dress - tried to call first, but no one answered the phone - when I arrived the clerk at the front counter said "they were all too busy to answer the phone!!!" They asked me to sign for the dress so I asked to see it first - it looked like it had been rolled in a ball and thrown on a hanger. I asked that it be pressed - and the clerk said - and I kid you not - "that's why you should call first!!!! more

This place is amazing. I've been in the fashion industry for over 10 years, and with 3 separate degrees from FIT and Parsons. This being the case, finding a wedding dress was a challenge to say the least. I went to 15 specialty stores, and found nothing but rude customer service and boring dresses. (seriously at Klienfields I asked my rep to show me the most amazing dress she had in the store and she said 'you can't afford it') Turns out the dress that I couldn't afford was 1) in my price range and 2) trashy not unique. ) At Bijou Kathy and Karen are 2 of the most helpful customer service reps I have ever worked with in fashion EVER. They don't work on commission, they actually take an interest in you, your family, and what you are looking for. The peace of mind I have knowing that Kathy is "in charge" of my account is worth every penny (and surprisingly for the detail of the dress I bought, it's not extraordinarily expensive, I got my dream dress for under 2,000 where my budget was up to 10,000) My mother found her dress here as did my hard to fit and please God-mother. I cannot believe it's all under one roof. The best part walking into bijou after being annoyed at every other dress store was the accessibility of the dresses. Many of the dresses are on mannequins so you can actually see the form, the dresses that are not are hung with space between them, and freely without being smushed into a gross bag. Display, attitude, and quality of the products are unlike any other store I've been to. They have something for everyone, and a wide prince range as well. I live in Manhattan, and found the only dress I would consider with the only people who cared enough for my needs at Bijou Bridal in a small town in NJ! more

Good: I loved the service, i was just a bridesmaid but when i went with the bride, who bought her gown there they were so accomedating and helpful both for her gown and ours (we went there in a big group 8-girls) and they were very professional about sizing all of us and the order process.- when the gowns came in we set up our alteration appointments and still very happy with the service.. Bad: i loved it there, definately will go there when i get married.. Improvements: i would not change anything. more

This is a wedding factory. Due to family circumstances, my wedding had to be planned in less than 4 months. They told me it would take 6 to 8 months to get a dress. Then they told my mom it would take 4 to 6 months to get any of the mother of the brides dresses in, when my mom said she would need it by February, the manager smiled and said, "Too Bad!" more

I have to say that my experience at Bijou was great from my first visit there all the way up to my final fitting! When I bought my gown Catherine was my consultant and super friendly, she suggested a style that I didn't think I would like but when I put it on I fell in love! Once it came in I met with her again just to try it on and she helped me with accessories. My fittings were great from beginning to finish, my seamstress was amazing and made my dress hug my body perfectly. The day of the wedding I looked great and my dress looked like it was made for me! I loved Bijou and have already referred my girlfriends there! more

awful customer service. The manager told me she didn't care if I was upset or displeased. She also said I didn't spend enough money there for them to really bother with me. more

Bought a bridesmaid dress here and had alterations done on site. After spending over $350 at this place they refused to give me a garment bag for the dress that I needed since I had to fly across the country for the wedding. My alterations were $145 and then they wanted me to fork over another $10. I spoke to the manager who said she didn't really care if I was unhappy and that I didn't spend enough money for them to bother with my complaint. Never go here!!! They will nickel and dime you. more

I went in to the salon Oct. 31 with a specific bridal gown in mind. Stephanie was my consultant and she was very friendly and helpful. She encouraged me to try on other styles just to make sure that I would feel confident about the dress that I really loved. My dress should be here in a few months. I am hoping that the service I have so far encountered continues. more

Good: Service, quality and atmosphere!. Bad: Everything was great, even the bathroom is beautiful!. Improvements: No need to improve a thing! Just keep up the great work!. more

This store recently opened in the paramus, new jersey area and I was one of the first to check it out. The decor is beautiful on the inside and very spacious. I didn't make an appointment, but they still helped me purchase a very nice evening dress for a good price. (I think bridal parties have to make appointment, but not special occasion) The shop carries very high end dresses with suitable prices, if your looking for designer name dresses. The one thing I loved the most was the fact that the service was one on one and very personal / private. A+ customer service. Their product line seem to vary from middle to high priced dresses. Definitely not cheap products and very nice fabrics. I will definitely be going back for their evening dresses. -a.k more
