Editorial review from Citysearch 10/21/2012

THIS HOSPITAL HAS HAD A CURSE ON IT FOR MANY YEARS. I wholeheartedly believe this, in all seriousness. Not only did my cat get misdiagnosed here, but have had a few friends who've used this hospital. One whose cat came in for a shot, and left with a broken jaw! When I was there last, I had heard inappropriate yelling and cursing coming from the treatment room. That was my final time there, and actually took my cat and left in the middle of an exam. more

Beverly Oaks sets the standard high for service and competence! 6/7/2012

We have three Golden Retrievers. Dr. Leach and the Beverly Oaks Veterinary team saved the life of our youngest dog when she was a puppy, and gently cared for our 15 year old when she suffered an acute attack of vertigo in the middle of the night. We had to carry her in to the clinic, and she happily walked out a day or two later.\r \r The front desk knows us by name, and never fails to offer world class service. They are conveniently close by, but we'd travel miles to get the level of care offered here. more

BEWARE DON'T GO HERE-YOU'VE BEEN WARNED 4/8/2012

IN MY OPINION, THEY KILLED MY DOG. BEWARE; READ BEWARE.... We should have listened when we were advised against taking our pets to Beverly Oaks by animal rescuers. But it was after midnight, they were close and open. Our tiny dog had been attacked by an owl or other wild animal. Upon arrival, getting a credit card was the priority as we waited 20 minutes before they disappeared in the back with her. We waited over an hour in the lobby then said she had a punctured lung, needed surgery and $4k later, she'd be fine. I pleaded to see her but they refused to let us in the back and told us to wait in a room and they'd bring her to see us. I questioned the idea of jostling her around- they promised it was fine. I called a dear friend, a night owl - her dog once had a punctured lung. She assured me this was fixable and not to worry. But she paid $1400.\r We waited over an hour. Finally I stepped out & was snapped at to be patient. We waited almost 2 more so I went out and could find no one. I more

Cat Connection Affliated iwth 2/28/2012

This is a review for Cat Connection, which is affiliated with Beverly Oaks Pet Resort. Approximately 11 years ago, I got a kitten from Cat Connection, because my old cat Ted died at the age of 18 years. I thought my other cat was lonely, so they gave me a cat that subsequently came home and bit a chunk out of my other cat's ear. I returned that cat, because obviously that wasn't going to work, and they gave me another cat. Shortly after that cat came to my house, he was diagnosed with neurotic behavior by the vet and given a sedative, because he was pulling the hair out of his tail. The medication seemed to work fine. However, for the better part of ten years, this cat urinated and defecated in the bathroom sink, in a shoe if it was left on the floor, and wherever he pleased. After numerous visits to the vet and purchasing additional larger cat boxes with and without lids, and literally having three cat boxes in my home at one time, purchasing a little $25 bottle of spray that was supposed to discourage this behavior, as well as switching to every brand of cat litter under the sun, it was determined his behavior was never going to change. Having undergone two open heart surgeries and breast cancer and the subsequent treatment for that, I tried...really tried to work with this cat. I loved him, and did care for him, but I was at my wit's end. After placing ads with Cat Connection and personal ads myself, I finally had to resort to returning him to Cat Connection. The person in charge at the time wrote me a lengthy two page letter indicating I was a horrible pet owner. She also made sure to tell the other employees at Cat Connection, and then recently, I found they had placed a posting using my full first and last name and stating that I did not care about the cat and returned him after ten years. They did not mention that I have two dogs and a cat who are well-adjusted happy pets. When I contacted the individual whose name appeared on the post, she denied she posted it, yet her name and a portion of her e-mail address was listed clearly on the post. Not every animal is suited for every home, and like people, some animals have emotional and other problems which are not as a result of the current owner. Who knows what happened to this little cat while with an owner prior to coming to my home. I really did the best I could, and I think that ten years of effort should not be so harshly judged by Cat Connection. Pros: null Cons: null more

animal care 11/23/2011

Today November 23, 2011, the day before Thanksgiving, I realized that I was very low on my cat's thyroid medication. My veterinarian is closed for a few days, so I sent my husband to our alternate vet, Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital with our cat's medication bottle. They REFUSED to give him a few pills to tie us over until next week when my vet comes back. My husband called me from his car and to tell what had just happened. \r I could not believe it and thought that maybe my husband did not tell them that my cat is a patient there also and was just there one month ago when my cat got sick where she got a blood test which cost a fortune... and I told him to go back in and let me talk to someone there... So he did and I spoke with the office manager who confirmed what my husband told me. They would not do it!\r \r She told me that because the cat did not get his thyroid blood test with them, they would not give us the pills! I told her that my cat has been on this medication for some time more

THE WORST PET HOSPITAL IN THE WORLD 7/27/2011

I TOOK MY TOY POODLE TO THIS HOSPITAL ON JULY 4TH, 2011, HE HAD THROWN UP AND HAD WATERY EYES, THE VET ON DUTY TOLD ME HE MAY HAVE EATEN THE WRONG THING AND PERSCRIBED FLAGYIL, I TOLD HER MY DOG DIDNT DO WELL WITH PILL FORM AND REQUESTED LIQUID AT WHICH TIME I WAS TOLD THEY DIDNT HAVE THAT, THE VET FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH MY DOGS EYES AND INFORMED ME THAT MY DOG HAD A HEART MURMOR, I WAS ALSO TOLD MY DOG WAS GIVEN A FULL BLOOD PANEL WHEN IN FACT THE ONLY BLOOD WORK DONE WAS WHAT THEY COULD TEST IN THE OFFICE, UPON TAKING MY DOG TO MY REGULAR VET SHORTLY AFTER MY VISIT THERE, MY DOG WAS GIVEN THE LIQUID FORM OF THE MEDICINE ALON WITH LIQUID PEPCID, AN EYE INFECTION WAS DIAGNOSED AND MEDICATION FOR THAT PERSCRIBED, EYES BETTER IN 2 DAYS, AND NO HE3ART MURMOR WAS DETECTED AFTER BEING TESTED BY 2 VETS IN MY REGULAR OFFICE. I HAD PAID FOR THE EMERGENCT BILL WITH BOTH MY DEBT CARD AND CASH, I RIGHT AWAY CALLED BEVERLY OAKS AND SPOKE WITH THEIR OFFICE MANAGER TO GET A FULL REFUND, THEY REFUSED, I PROMPLY PUT A STOP REVERSAL ON THE DEBT PORTION I PAID AND CHASE DETERMINED THAT THEY WOULD SIDE WITH ME AND REVERSE THEM RECEIVING ANY FUNDS FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT BASED ON A LETTER FROM MY REGULAR VET, THEY TOOK THE MONEY BACK FROM THEM, HOWEVER I DID PAY JUST OVER $200 CASH AND REQUESTED THAT BACK BUT THEY WOULD RATHER GO TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT WITH ME, THE DOCTOR THAT MY PET SAY IS CONVEINANTLY NO LONGER EMPLOYED THERE, WHICH BY THE WAY, THEY FLY THROUGH VETS AT ALARMING SPEEDS.I AM TAKING THEM TO COURT AND WILL POST THE COURT AND COURT DATE WHEN I HAVE IT. OH AND BY THE WAY, THE ONLY REASON I GAVE THEM 1 STAR IS BECAUSE I HAD TO TO PUBLISH THIS, THEY DESERVE NONE !!! more

DON' GO HERE! 4/3/2011

For the sack of your pets life, DON' GO HERE! For the sake of avoiding the deep hardship you will experience, DON'T GO HERE!\r \r There's no doubt that the people writing good reviews of this hell hole, must work there, are friend or family of those working there or got paid.\r \r DON'T GO HERE! If you do, you'll regret it. more

Beware. Dr. Leach is the anti-Christ! 2/18/2011

Worst facility in the valley. Stay away. Avoid this place. If you don't believe me just check with the Calif State Board. Use Animal Emergency and Care Center in Woodland Hills. more

DO NOT GO THERE! 1/19/2011

If I could leave less than one star, I would. I blame them for the death of my cat.\r \r I've had other cats with thyroid problems. With those cats, I would give them regular medications. For some reason, I allowed myself to be convinced by a vet to have my cat get a radiation treatment for his thyroid. I was told that he would have to be there for 3 days, after which he would never need to get daily medication.\r \r Well, they refused to let me see him during that time, claiming that the radiation would be harmful to me. They claimed that he had some mild diarrhea but was doing fine. After the three days were up, they refused to allow me to have him back or to even see him. \r \r It was 10 days before I was able to get my cat back- I was, of course, getting charged per day for him. The staff acted as though this was perfectly normal and that my concerns were unfounded. He died right after I took him home.\r \r PLEASE, DO NOT GO THERE!!!! more

We love Dr. Waikart!!! 1/12/2011

We were worried about our dog when we found a lump on his chest, Dr. Waikart urged us to get it checked out immediately. She took her time to explain everything to us in detail and with saintly patience. When our test came back saying that it was a tumor and needed to be removed we felt very comfortable leaving him in her hands because we knew how much she cared. She removed the tumor and gave us great TLC, including checking up on him afterward. Thank you Dr. Waikart and Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital for taking such good care of our baby! more

They killed my pet lab!!!! Avoid this horrible place 12/12/2010

Bad!! Worst vet in the valley. They killed my dog, never admitted to fault and then acted like her death was no big deal. I am in the process of suing and reporting their actions to the state board. more

AMMMMAAZZZIIINNGGGGG! 7/28/2010

You guys are crazy! Beverly Oaks is amazing, I took my cockapoo there after she gave birth to "9" puppies and they treated her like a princess. They gave her food and all of her shots and even checked the puppies for free. Dr.Leach came in and made sure my dog was okay and good to go. And the price was low. Beverly Oaks is a great animal hospital. more

Best Place to Euthanize when Needed 7/28/2010

I am sad to read all this negative stuff here but I do believe the stuff about the money sadly . They have alot of overhead & certainly have to charge more for their location & all the top of the line equipment etc..so I understand the fees higher.\r But to be rude & make the money so much more important than people's feelings is truly sad & will cost this facility patients.\r I do understand on the other side of the coin, that many people pay doctors last when in fact they should pay them first! & I imagine this place has been ripped off too many times to count however there is such a thing as diplomacy & I hope & pray the get educated on their bedside manner.\r I would definitely use this hospital over Studio City after a very bad experience there in March. NO doubt I would come here or go elsewhere just not Studio City\r Dr Laurel Leach is the main draw here. She is truly dedicated, professional, & very very experienced. I understand that getting to her & getting past the rudeness is th more
