Electronics Galore 6/9/2011

If I’m not at J and R finding my electronic needs than you will find me here at Best Buy. This store has everything type of electronic device you need for every room in your house. You can buy a new computer, TV, dishwasher, cell phone, and video game all in the same place. I highly suggest this place if you are moving or if you recently moved. They offer the Best Buy Rewards Program, which gives you one Best Buy Buck for every $100 you spend. This really does pay off if you are making several large purchases. When my husband and I moved into our new place we decided to buy all new TV’s. We were done with our huge tubs and wanted all flat screens for our new digs. We recognize that new products are always coming out so we didn’t want to buy an old model that was soon to become obsolete. At the same time we weren’t willing to pay top dollar for the newest 3D television. We wanted something with favorable reviews , preferably made by Sony or Samsung and a decent price. On this particular day the store wasn’t overly crowded so we only had to wait about 10 minutes before someone was able to assist us in our purchase. The gentleman that helped us knew everything there is to know about these flat screens. He knew consumer rating, performance test results, user reviews…everything.! The nice part about or experience is that he didn’t act like a salesman. He wasn’t overly pushy and didn’t try to get us to buy something that was completely out of our price range. Overall this store offers great products and great service, the only downfall is that is gets very busy so be prepared to wait for an associate. Oh and remember, it’s called ‘Best Buy” because the will honor all competitors prices. All you have to do is bring in an add or a printed quote and they will match the price. more

More Service 5/21/2011

The name says it all… quite simply the cheapest and easiest way to score a deal on electronics. Sale flyers frequently advertise specials, and their RewardZone reward card program is more flexible than others- you don’t just get coupons, but earned purchase points add up to certificates you can use in the store as tender. Many people don’t know that Best Buy has a “Geek Squad” of professionals to help set up anything from a computer to a home theater or car (gps) or even marine (boating) system (much-needed for the technically illiterate among us… especially ‘grandma’). They even repair Ipods. I was surprised Best Buy (at least online) has now got into the business of musical instruments, and even offers lessons! They have a buy-back program for your older camcorders, computers, flat-screen TV’s, cell phones, and other electronics when you’re ready for new gear (you get a gift certificate card for whatever they value your stuff at)- the catch is, you have to buy the “buy-back program” deal when you originally buy your stuff at Best Buy in order for this program to be in effect… this seems best for the gadget-addicts among us. They also have an excellent electronics recycling program- they accept almost any electronics item for free (most items) recycling, regardless of where you purchased it. Online, they have a special “Outlet Center” of clearance items super-discounted. You’ll also find (under “Services”) a Trade-in Center (they also have it at stores), where you can get standard estimates on how much your used electronics/stuff is worth, print a pre-paid shipping label, and mail your stuff to one of their warehouses, where value is verified and you are then shipped a gift certificate for that amount. Oh, and Best Buy is much better organized than staples! more
