The Berkeley Shore is most definitely the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed in. To add weight to this statement, I add that I have been in the bad parts of town in Buenos Aires, Guayaquil, Moscow, Tehran, Shanghai and Amsterdam, so I'm not just saying something. We ended up in the B.S. because we just landed, were jetlagged, needed a place to stay, and hadn't deployed our 'crap antenna's' yet. We figured it'd be OK, and we'd get on the road the next day and start our holiday for real.
Turns out the B.S. makes their money by renting apartments out to social security cases, and rooms by the hour to the less glamorous part of the Miami Beach hooker brigade. I met girls in the hallway that made me want to wash my eyeballs with Listerine !
The room was dark, rank, and filthy and the door had no lock. We slept on top of the beds with our clothes on. To get an impartial impression of the B.S. I'd recommend you pay a visit to Miami.everyblock dotcom where you can see how many violations have been reported in terms of safety, health and hazards. The place is scary in so many ways that it could probably make all the money it needs on Halloween. You don't need to trust my judgement, but if you want to avoid encountering hookers, bugs, vermin, filth and contageous diseases, I sincerely recommend you DO NOT GO THERE !!! repeat : DO NOT GO THERE !!!
Oh, yeah, the outside looks nice in the evening
Pros: it's got a roof
Cons: bugs, vermin, contageous diseases, hookers, smell, crime,
