Myself and one other bridesmaid ordered dresses in the beginning of December to be rushed for a wedding on February 18, 2012. When the sales associate wrote the style number for the dresses she wrote the one I wanted on the other bridesmaids form and hers on mine. The other bridesmaid and I are drastically different body types and sizes which is why we came to Bella, so that we could get dresses in the same fabric but different styles. When I went to pick up the dresses I realized the error and since the wedding is coming up was told there is no chance to get new dresses in. The associate at the Bella Bridesmaid simply has told us that we signed the contract and that is all. That she can order extra fabric to have the dresses remade (at our expense) but since we signed this contract that her associate wrote the wrong style on it is our problem. As a professional I expect the associate to know the style number not me the consumer. I did not write the style number on the contract or my measurements, these are things I leave to the professional staff.
I understand that I signed a contract for the wrong dress because I never saw the style number and trusted the associate to write the correct style number, I realize my mistake in that. But the resolution to have the dresses entirely remade at our expense of anywhere between $200 -$300 per dress on dresses that we already paid $350 for is unrealistic. At this moment, the answer from the Atlanta Bella Bridesmaid has been ""you signed this contract and there is nothing we are going to but order more fabric"". How is that a resolution?
Being a photographer in this industry I am disappointed in how this has been handled. I had been sending my brides to Bella for their bridesmaid dresses in the past, in fact my client for January 21, bought 7 dresses there and now feel that I can not do that anymore. Being a small business every client is important and if I had an associate that ordered the wrong item for a client, I would do everything in my power to make this right including refunding the client.
As of right now, I have not accepted the dress. We got quotes on remaking the dresses but don't feel that the remake should be our responsibility so they are at the alterations salon that Bella Bridesmaid recommends. Ultimately, I would like a refund for the dress and to have Bella Bridesmaid keep it.
My advice is to stay away from Bella Bridesmaid!
