Beauty Secrets

(CitySearch thinks the term for the hair that lies across your forehead is a bad word so we'll call it b*ngs) My requests were simple and straightforward. I simply wanted a wash, cut, and blow-dry. The cut: long side-swept b*ngs and the rest trimmed to just pass my shoulders. I went to this place strictly based off the reviews on Citysearch - big mistake! My experience was horrible. The mother cut my hair and we discussed everything beforehand. I had a collage of pictures and she seemed to understand what I wanted. We even discussed what I did NOT want for sure. Wouldn't you know it - my hair ended up exactly how I DIDN'T want it. She cut the majority of my hair too short (above the shoulders when I had specifically said I wanted it PAST my shoulders). She didn't cut it straight either - I had long pieces hanging down past the rest and they made a feeble attempt to fix this as I walked out of the door. The WORST part is the b*ngs - she had asked, "So do you want an obvious b*ng or b*ngs that blend with the rest of your hair?" I told her I did NOT like obvious b*ngs and wanted the blended, side-swept, long b*ngs. Guess what I ended up with -- thick b*ngs cut straight across my forehead! They're terrible! I've had to pin them back every day. You can't fix something that's TOO short. To make it even worse, she burned my forehead TWICE with the curling iron. TWICE. Not tiny, oopsy marks; I ended up with large, brown, burnt-flesh splotches on 1/2 of my forehead. Good thing I have these nasty b*ngs to cover up the burn marks if I so chose! Her demeanor kind of sucked too - she'd ask questions to seem sociable but would then eavesdrop on the other conversation in the room without listening to my response. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone; in fact, I'm doing my best to warn everybody so they don't have to go through what I went through (something I'm still suffering from while I wait for my hair to grow back so somebody skilled can cut it.) Pros: Great parking...since there was only 1 other customer...I wonder why... Cons: I forgot to mention - they didn't even wash my hair because they were in a hurry to close. more

After reading reviews on Citysearch about Beauty Secrets, I decided to give them a try. I have fine thin hair and am tenderheaded. My mom and I went for a cut and highlights. Jacqueline & Diana were professional, gentle and fun to talk to. I enjoyed the log cabin w/pine trees - felt at home. My hair looks better than I thought it could. Will definitely be back! more

I have been following Diana for years. Where she went, I went. Nobody does my color as well as she does. I might be getting gray, but only my hair dresser knows for sure. She's that good! Pros: Service and parking is great. more

Diana and Jacque are the best. I have been going to them for about 7 years now. I drive quite a distant to go the salon, but I will not go any place else. The salon is warm and inviting. The ladies are very personable and really make you feel at home. They started out as my hairdressers, but now I consider them my good friends. Give Beauty Secrets a try .I promise you will not be dissappointed. more

Honestly, people who do you think write these great review, they themselves do. I went there because of all these great reviews and five stars that they received and I was dissapointed in the salon. I just want to warn people who decide to actually go there, these reviews are all fake or you can go and find out that for yourself. more

I have to admit, my hair is a bit of a security blanket to me. So, when my husband suggested it was time for a change I was reluctant. One reason is, since moving to the area I had never found a stylist. So when I read the reviews for Beauty Secrets I knew I had to give them a try. Now I""m sorry I waited so long! Jacque listened patiently to my fears of loosing 5 inches of my hair, and gave helpful insight to my highlight ideas. The finished product is gorgeous, I've gotten so many compliments equally on the cut, and the color. I will never ever go anywhere else. more

I looked around and I felt relaxed already. I walked in to the shop and met Diana, she was very friendly and enthusiastic. Diana provided me with the best haircut I have ever received. She was kind and thoughtful in her questions and she really worked with me to make sure she had a good idea of what I wanted. The conversation was lively and entertaining, like visiting with a good friend. I enjoyed my visit and I am recommending this Salon to anyone who will listen. I started having Jacque do my hair cut, color and style about 1 1/2 years ago and it has been the best salon experience I have ever had. Great family place, up-to-date styling and color. My husband has Jacque style his hair and he is always very pleased. Diana styles my Mom's hair while Jacque does mine or my husband's and we all leave well-coifed! My Mom moved here from out of state and had been going to the same hairdresser for more 25 years so we ""shopped"" around a bit before Mom finally found Diana who does a great job. more

Beauty Secrets is great! I scheduled my first appointment for a color and haircut with Jacque about a year ago, and have been back every two months since. I even started bringing my mom along so Jacque could do her hair, which is not alwyas easy because my mom has Alzheimer's Disease. Jacque and Diana have created such a warm, friendly environment at Beauty Secrets, it's hard for me to imagine getting my hair or my mom's hair done anywhere else. more
