Beartooth Exploration offers complete environmental and ecological services to municipalities, state and federal agencies, development and mining companies, engineering firms, and environmental specialty firms. We serve clients in several market sectors including education, retail, parks and recreation, telecom, utility services, and transportation. As part of our ecological services process, we typically flag and label site features and collect GPS data in the field. The GPS data is used to create a site-featured base map, typically in a GIS that depicts the general location and shape of wetlands within a project study area. Our clients and the State and Federal regulatory agencies with jurisdiction can use the site-featured base map as a guide to review the physical flagging strategic biologists tie in the field of construction-related avoidance and minimization. The site-featured base map can be used to identify where delineation flags have been placed in the field so that our clients or the State and Federal regulatory agencies with jurisdiction can independently locate and verify our delineation work at a later time. The GPS information collected by our biologists in the field is not to be used or relied upon in the future. The location data is collected to create an image of the preliminary wetland boundary for review by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Of course, our scope of work is always project dependent and tailored to the specific needs of our client.
