Pretty good selection and service 3/26/2006

Beadazzled is a good place for people who make an occasional piece of jewelry or who need help getting started. It's also wonderful for unique finished jewelry and other gift items from all over the world. Their book and magazine selection is excellent, as are their findings. Prices tend to be on the high side which doesn't matter much if you just do a few things now and then but you will do better with the big mail order places if you get into this bigtime. The help is mostly patient and friendly but can be a bit short during busy times. Metered parking on the street. more

Bead heaven! 2/21/2006

This beading store is a perfect place to shop if you're looking for jewelry supplies. They sell all manner of beads--expensive, fancy beads, as well as run of the mill plastic beads. They also sell all of the accessories necessary to turn these beads into whatever you can dream up. They are priced fairly and have a great selection. The only trick is parking--which can sometimes be a challenge. more

Fantastic Variety for the Compulsive Beader 2/9/2006

Beadazzled is a great bead emporium in the heart of Mt. Vernon. While the employees are very friendly, they take their beading very seriously. One thing to note is that you cannot carry around any bags or purses with you; given the tiny merchandise, they ask that you leave it with the cashier. Their overall selection is displayed quite beautifully, and it's augmented by various gift items like candles, crystals, and jewelry. You can also join their beading club, where after you spend so much, you get a flat discount on your next purchase. more

beautiful sparkly beads 12/19/2005

Oh, what a fun place to shop! If you're into beading or jewelry making, you must come here. The beads are beautifully displayed and organized by color, so it is easy to find what you are looking for. There is a large selection of czech glass beads, including swarovski brand. There are displays of finished jewelry on the walls - check them out for inspiration! The prices are good, and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. more

okay, but not great 10/3/2005

Beadazzled has the largest selection of unique beads in Baltimore to choose from, but if you are looking to purchase a lot you will be better off ordering through the Internet. This store is fun and you can also get some cool ideas of bead related craft projects for your children here. more

Great selection 8/17/2005

This is for all you arts and crafts fans. This store pretty much just sells beads. They have loose beads, bead strands, seed beads, every single kind of bead imaginable. Amazing selection. My friend Jane loves this place and goes every so often. It's also close to the JOhns Hopkins campus so go in and browse if you're in the neighborhood... it really is a very unique and one-of-a-kind store... more

Here's where you get beads 8/6/2005

I just wrote a review of Terra Firma, a jewelry making supply store with only one weakness: they don't sell many beads. But not to worry--just head downtown to Beadazzled and you'll have more beads than you know what to do with! It always strikes me as odd that a store like this can be successful with a City location--it seems more like something you'd find on the outskirts of the City, but they've been in business for a number of years and whenever I go in (usually at lunchtime) it seems pretty crowded. This is a beautiful store. Most of the beads--all types and sizes--are displayed loose in open containers on tables taking up most of the retail space. When I walk in, I have to resist the urge to pick up handfuls and run my fingers through them, or worse--grab handfuls and buy them just because they are so pretty. Even if you've never made anything with beads before, you'll want to take up this hobby when you walk in. They also have racks of seed beads and ropes of pearls and gemstones. Prices are about average--you could do better buying off various internet sites--but then you wouldn't get the pleasure of shopping at a place that looks like a treasure chest exploded. more
