very dissapointed 3/20/2009

I've never actually purchased any BCBG clothing or shoes from their actual boutiques only from other retailers. Sadly to say my first time turned out lacking. Like the reviewer below i have to agree their customer service is AWFUL! most especially in their Wooster location. I had bought a pair of shoes the Lacy 2 in poppy at another location in a smaller size than mine because i wanted to take advantage of their $100 off $300 or more spring promotion and the other item that added up to the $300 was the last size( i really really wanted it). So i figured i would buy the shoes now and exchange them at another location with my size, which turned out to be the one in Wooster st. when its time for the exchange at the counter the sales rep is inspecting the shoe like its a science experiment i quickly assured him that i bought the shoe 2days ago as he could see in the receipt and haven't worn them, if the soles were dirty it must have been from people trying them on at the store. he goes yeah i understand that but look at the heel its clearly worn out and i'm trying to see the heel and see what hes talking about, in fact i pointed out to him the heel was in the same exact condition as the one i was exchanging it for. So we went back and forth until he spoke to a manager and they said they would make an ""exception"" this one time implying that i was lying. Needless to say when i got home I inspected my shoe to realize one of them had water marks that didn't come off no matter how hard i tried and the leather looked wrinkled. I have a couple of days until my 10 days are up to do an exchange but I'm afraid i might end up having to violently defend myself. To sum it all up they were really rude and condescending to in the end give me a mediocre product. I've had better service at lesser stores with higher product satisfaction. Pros: their clothes are very stylish Cons: terrible policies. more

Terrible Experience 2/4/2009

I never write bad reviews, but I have had such bad experiences with them recently that I will never ever make a BCBG Max Azria purchase again.\r I went shopping with a friend who purchased a couple of shirts on clearance. I purchased a fairly expensive current-season sweater and when I got it home, I noticed that the bottom ribbing part was torn from the rest of the sweater. When I told my friend, she said that her silk shirt also had a rip in it but since it was clearance it was final sale and she couldn't return it. I brought mine back with the receipt and was informed that there was no refund option, that I would have to exchange the shirt instead. The manager who I spoke with told me that ""this never happens"" and pointedly said that she had brought the sweater out for me and she remembered that it did not have a rip at that time. Needless to say I was irked by both being accused of ripping the sweater and not being able to get my money back. I exchanged it for the same sweater again. I wore the sweater for 2 hours and when I got home my boyfriend pointed out that the ribbing was ripped from the bottom of the sweater. When I investigated the tear, it was quite a lot bigger than on the original sweater. I called the store and spoke with a manager, explained the situation and told him that I wanted my money back because honestly for the money I spent I could have bought 10 sweaters from Old Navy and had the same type of quality experience. He insisted that they never ever do refunds and they might be able to exchange it if it's within 10 days and they determine that it was ripped when I bought it and that *maybe* he could offer me 10% off my next purchase. 10%? Seriously? I work in retail and 10% to an upset customer is an insult.\r I am now taking the situation up with my credit card company because this is absurd. The total lack of consideration or quality control and abhorrent customer service is astounding. Pros: Easy to wear clothing. Variety. Cons: Awful customer service. Horrible return policy. Bad quality control. more
