Worst Experience Ever! 11/11/2011

I was sold a fake purse while pregnant and when I told the owner she got very confrontational with me. I could not have a reasonable conversation with her. Not only are the employee's snobby and rude, but what kind of business owner yells at a pregnant woman? I kept the fake purse and got the heck out of there. I will never go back there again. I have been told that this was not the first time they have sold fake designer labels and have been reported to the better business bureau on several occasions, I just wish I would have known that before I shopped there. Beware of this store and owner! more

the best place for designer resale. 6/24/2009

you have to go in to experiance what a treat this boutique has to offer. the clothes and the labels are the best around. the customer service is beyond great and the atmosphere makes you never want to leave! Pros: clothes are in excellent shape. the shoes are hot! Cons: not enough time to shop! more

No star would be the best rating.. 5/6/2009

Recommendation.. Read all the reviews and you will understand why you should not enter the doors of Baubles and Beads on Broadway. The owner Maureen is an embarassment to shop owners in San Antonio. I don't rattle easy, but today was a horrible experience. My consignment was over and I went to pick up the items that did not sell. Also, tried to pick up some jewelry that was broken, which they had set to the side for me to pick up later. I was told I had to search the boutique myself to find my items. A daunting task but , I got it done, all except for one suit. Upon asking for my broken jewelry rude Maureen, proceeded to tell me they didn't have time to look for it as she was slaming draws pretending to. I asked her if she was having a bad day. Then she started a yelling over the counter loud enough for every one to hear that I was just mad because she couldnt find my jewelry. Again , I don't rattle easy, but I found myself in a yelling match with her. She was so busy trying to be right, she couldnt hear what I was saying. Nor was she even trying. . She actually yelled at me telling me that I should be thanking her for selling my stuff, mind you she cleared 60 of what was sold. There is something really wrong with this slopily dressed, fouled mouth, rude person to take out such anger on someone that helped to pay her bills. I should have read the sorry I didn't. Cons: rude shop owner more

Stuck up Staff, Rude Owner, and Second rate merchandise 9/10/2008

First of all, I have low expectations for a glorified rummage sale, but this establishment fell far below my already low expectations. The plastic bags offered at Wal-Mart are of a better quality than the handbags sold at this baubles and beads. Now don't get me wrong ladies, I enjoy perusing these little shops and occasionaly unearthing a good find, but your search would be fruitless here if you are interested in quality products for a good price. An afternoon of Dumpster diving\r would yield greater results and you would not have to deal with rude staff. \r The owner of this store is so rude that she makes the Soup N a z i from Seinfeld look like a friendly little kitten!\r The owner's lack of people skills is appalling.Unfortunately, it seems that she never heard of the concept of that ""the customer is always right.""I purchased a little purse from the baubles and beads for my granddaughter's birthday and the handle broke as soon as she took out of the gift box. As soon as the handle snapped , the poor little dear burst into tears. That sweet little girl had her heart set on that purse, and now her birthday was ruined a product malfunction! Pros: nothing at all Cons: rude owner, low quality products more

worst customer service not shop here 9/1/2008

This is the worst store for customer service that I have ever been to. The store is nice but when you have rude, careless, argumentative makes the whole thing NOT worth it. I will never take any item to them as nothing is ever good enough for them and their costumers seem to feel the same....These snooty ladies think that they are far too good for the middle class people! Pros: nothing! Cons: Everything, high over priced and sometimes fake items...horrible customer service. more

First off the saff was very unaproachable, snobby, rude, and very unprofessional. I signed over my bags for consignment. First of all the consignment agreement is 60/40 my half being the 40% secondly when one of my bags was sold, as i watched the owner change the selling price so i would only recieve $44.00 for a 300 dollar bag. i would not recommend going to this resale boutique if it can even be called by that name. A total scam!! \r shoppers and consigners beware! Pros: quiet because no one was there Cons: the staff, the consignment agreement, the lying and deceit. more

Baubles and Beads funds their business by swindling customers out of they're money. This store sells counterfeit purses to customers on the false premise that they are authentic. I should know, I was one of those cusomers! I purchased what I was told(by the owner) was an authentic Louis Vuitton handbag. When I took the handbag to the Louis Vuitton store to have it authenticated I was informed it was not authentic. When I brought this matter to the owner's attention she not only refused to refund my $300, she also accused me of lying and refused to meet me at the Louis Vuitton store to have this handbag authenticated. She also stated and I quote ""I have been down this road before and you're not gonna get anywhere."" which leads me to believe that she has done this to other cusomers other than myself. I strongly warn people against doing any kind of business with this dishonest store, owner and associates. Pros: I also gave them one star for staying in business Cons: The owner is a lying con-artist more

Stay Away 8/12/2008

Not only would I never shop there again, I would certainly not consign anything there again. How do they stay in business? \r \r I gave them one star for staying in business in spite of themselves. That in itself is amazing. Pros: No customers means no lines Cons: The owner more

Good Stuff, Staff is Snotty 6/25/2008

Although this resale store is the nicest I have been in in the area, the staff is less than pleasant to deal with. I have shopped here and have also taken things for consignment. The two ladies I have encountered act like they are doing you a favor by consigning your clothes. They have made a few comments that were completely unnecessary and left me with the impression that they thought their store was too good for most people.\r \r I am in need of cash at the moment and will most likely continue to deal with them, but if you are looking for a long-term relationship with a business that will be respectufl and appreciative of you, this isn't it. My guess is that both of these ladies have never held a job that required them to have good working relationships with other people. They must feel that they are out of most people's league judging by the way they relate to their customers.\r \r I noticed that they will only take things that are not high-end labels if they are in top notch condition (which is perfectly fine), but some of the things they have that are high-end are not in that great of shape. For instance, a Coach purse they had for sale was completely worn and had obviously been used A LOT, it was not in ""mint condition"". They seem to place a higher value on things simply because of the label, whether it's warranted or not. Pros: Great environment, great part of town, nice store Cons: Staff is less than friendly, you can forget the chit chat more

Babbles and Beads Resale 2/17/2008

Although the store has appeal and the clothes are O.K., I find the staff, as well as the owner to be rude and therefore, I will not shop here again. Pros: Clothes are O.K. Cons: Staff is rude more

ok store with over eager staff 2/28/2006

I love to hunt consignment shops. I have shopped at the numerous Baubles and Beads shops in Texas. This store has ok stuff, but I often find really good labels after much searching. The reason I have stopped shopping here is because of the staff. I am all for great customer service, but constant assistance and alll staff approaching me with the same sales speech gets irritating. more
