Barton Eye Assoc

I've been a long time customer of Dr. Barton. I went in for my contact lens exam recently and found that his charge for Exam was $89 but then there was a contact lens exam for $90. That shocked me so I asked for my previous records. The staff was reluctant to share MY records but when I insisted, they showed me that I had paid $50 in November 2006 for the 'contact lens exam'. I was upset because it has gone up almost 100% in two years. That is RIDICULOUS. Also, this is the first time that I found Dr. Barton to be less than friendly. I have been a patient for over 8 years of Barton Eye Associates. Every time I go by, I am treated with the upmost professionalism by both Dr. Barton and his staff. In addition, I am always asked about my family as if I am more than just a patient. I highly recommend the casual although professional atmosphere if you are in the Colleyville area. After reading the reviews posted, I decided to write about my experiences with this office. I have used Brian Barton for years, and I think he is a highly skilled professional that is very easy to like. His staff is very friendly and helpful! I wouldn't think of going to any other place for my exams. \r I can not understand how a person can walk into that office and immediately make the assumption that the ladies working there are snotty or unwilling to help their customers. What a rude thing to say. Obviously, the person writing the review has a nasty attitude. I sincerely hope that someday, someone, repays your generosity by slamming you in a public forum in an effort to hurt your reputation. I sure hope it happens to you - so keep chewing on your sour grapes lady. Pros: Brian Barton is fantastic. Cons: None. more

I was a customer at Barton eyes throughout highschool, and into college. I have lived close by for over 12 years now, and they are conveniently located for me. Recently I had an insurance change and they didn't accept my insurance... No biggy, life happens! Anyhow, My experience with them has been that they are not eager to hlep you out, unless you have a huge amount of money to spend, and they can see it by your appearance.... In other words, they would rather turn your service away, unless you have an obviouse amount of money to spend on flashy glasses and contact lenses. My mother loves them, and I feel like they love her since she wears a 5 carat diamond on her hand, and gets Gucci Glasses, or Calvin Kleins, and allways gets her Sunglasses, polarized no less, there! As for me, I am a single mom, and I obviously don't have that kind of lifestyle! haha! They are a little on the snotty side, but they do a great exam once you get to the back. Dr. Barton is a great Doctor, and his staff is pretty well polished. I would go back if my insurance changed again, not for the freindliness, and surely not for the company, but for the exam I got. To the person who wrote the last review I have something to say to you because obviously you had a bad day and may have exagerated a bit because I have been a customer of Barton Eye Associates for a couple of years now and I have NEVER had an issue with anything. The girls are great Tamara, Sara and Kelly, they always make me feel welcome when I walk in the door and I have never had the doors locked when I arrived (even at 9:00am when they do open). I have also NEVER been given the wrong perscription, I have glasses and contacts and Barton Associates has always taken care of them without fail. I would recommend anyone to Barton Eye Associates. The doors were locked when I showed up at 9 am for my appointment - the office wasn't open yet! The doctor was late, and I ended up leaving after waiting for 40 minutes and finding out it would be at least another 20. I rescheduled, willing to give them a second chance, and once again the doors were locked at 9, and I was told they weren't open yet! When I was finally allowed in, the lady at the desk asked me what I needed, and when I told her I had an appointment, she looked shocked. She said she didn't know that and hadn't seen my name on the schedule (but there it was!). I was given the wrong forms to fill out. I was charged my $10 co-pay and then a $135 contact fitting fee and asked to pay $220 for single-vision RGPs. My insurance company says this is high, even for a private practice in their network, and is looking into it. Also, I was given the wrong prescription. When I got my contacts, I couldn't see anything, so I called my previous opthalmologist; he said I was given a prescription weaker than one I'd had four years ago (and I've had several since then). Bottom line: Save yourself time and a lot of money and trust your eyes to someone else! I went to Barton's on a colleague's recommendation, but she hadn't been there in a while, and things have obviously changed. more

I've been going to Dr. Barton for 10 years now. He's in Grapevine and I live in Dallas. He's always been cool and eager to help. Great guy...great practice more
