We were disappointed by a recent visit to this restaurant especially because the local newspaper had reviewed it favorably.
This non descript store front located in a dying strip mall in Newburgh is a little difficult to find.
Once inside, this place is no frills and not fancy. Small dining room with checkered vinyl tablecloths and paper towels for napkins. Seems fitting since eating BBQ can be messy.
We ordered ribs (which was what the newspaper article suggested) and were disappointed. The meat was well cooked but cold. My husband ordered chicken with his ribs and he didn't even touch it. The best thing about the meal was the side dishes--sweet potato fries, crunchy coleslaw & BBQ baked beans that were worth the drive from Monroe.
The wait staff is very pleasant and that made our meal tolerable--we didn't have the heart to tell the waiter that we didn't enjoy this meal.
I wasn't impressed and left there thinking our quest is on to find good BBQ in Orange or a surrounding county.
