Barnes & Noble Booksellers

I purchased a Nook for a gift 24 days ago. Still have it in the original wrapping with receipt. I now learn the price has dropped $60 but their return policy is 14 days. The extra 10 days cost me $60. No price adjustment. Most stores give you 30 days (some don't even have a limit on returns if the item isn't used). I don't think this is good customer service. Use the public library. It's free! I'll still give the Nook as the gift, but I'll also include information about the public library's FREE downloadable book service. more

What more could you ask for in life? A good book, a comfy couch and a hot latte. I am talking about Barnes & Noble of course. There are few stores that I can convince my husband to accompany me to, but this one never needs coercing. What I love most about this store is being able to take my time and browse. I never get a dirty look from a salesperson who is trying to make me leave, I never get pestered a hundred times from "helpful" salespeople asking me if I'm finding everything ok. I can go in, find what I'm looking for and leave, or I can go in without a clue what I am looking for and thoroughly enjoy myself. They have great coffee, good nibbles and the ambience of pure relaxation. I feel at ease letting my son peruse the kids section knowing there's plenty of things there to occupy him. We can look at reading material as well as play things for him and he is very seldom bored. My huband runs amok in the magazine department and can kill a good hour looking over every topic from cars to sports to video games. If you want a relaxing day/night out, give Barnes& Noble a try. more

If you can't find the book you are looking for, staff are willing to order it for you. Sometimes it's it a little difficult to locate a staff member, but it doesn't take too long. I like the fact you can go in and read through books and enjoy a coffee. Great program for kids during the summer months to earn 2 free books. Parking is available. Open long hours. more
