Best

I absolutely love Italian food, and Baraonda never lets me down. The seasonal menu keeps things exciting and makes me try new dishes (I tend to order the same thing at my favorite...

Worst

Went with a large group in town for a conference and was disappointed after hearing about how great this place is supposed to be. They crammed us around a couple of tables and ac...

worst service EVER!!!!! 1/22/2005

We had a party of 8 for a 9:00 pm reservation on Jan. 22, 2005. We arrived at 9:00 for our table. We were told that we could not sit down until our entire party was present. Our party was ready at 9:05 pm. Wewere told it would just be a minute or so. We finally left the god forsaken restaurant at 10:30 with empty stomachs. The hostess was anything but helpful. The manager was the most incompitent human being I've ever come in contact with. They could have accomodated us but they chose not to. Not once did the manager approach us to explain what was going on, nor did he offer a drink while we waited. NOTHING!! Ihave met 10 year olds with more compitence in their pinky than the jackhole manager working. 1/22/05 Cons: , service more

Awsome!!! 9/10/2004

My best-friend and I wanted to go to a nice little place to have a quiet dinner just to catch-up... well a friend told us about Baraonda- and she was right, it was AWSOME. Erin was our server, she was great, she was there when we needed her..... but left us to talk and we never felt rushed to leave. The was FAST, not only our food but everyone around us! I will go there again without a doubt. Pros: inexpensive, great patio, walking distance more

Don't believe the negative reviews! 7/17/2004

How anyone can say that they've had numerous bad experiences at Baraonda is beyond me. After dining here at least 10 times, I've found the food, service, and atmosphere to be excellent. And the martinis aren't bad either. Best of all, it's open late and very reasonably priced. I give it a 9 out of 10. Pros: food, prices, atmosphere more

The Real Baraonda 6/14/2004

I don't understand why this place got such good reviews. I live righr next door ans I won't eat there if I'm starving. I've been there 3 times. Not once, but three times and the food was really crappy. Its supposed to be real Italiam cusine from real Italians, but the food sucks big time. I've had the lasagne, a pizza and a seafood dish. All of it was horrific. The only good part about the whole restuarant was my very adorable waiter. If you want good Italian food go to Olive Garden, don't go here. Pros: Customer Service Cons: , Bad food, Bad food more

A romantic dinner 6/13/2004

Tonight was my first experience at Baraonda, but I will be back. My date chose it as we walked along Peachtree- totally unplanned- but we were both very pleased! The food is great for the money, the ambience is so nice and relaxed, and the wait-staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. Our waiter seemed sensitive about when to be attentive and when to leave us alone! Awesome experience! Pros: staff, good foor for $, romantic more

Sempre buono! 2/18/2004

I've dined at this fine restaurant/bar more times than I can count and have never had a bad experience. The martinis are some of the best in town, and it's always nice when a waiter (in this case, Luca) remembers what kind after being served by him only once. Kudos also to my other favorite server, Jon. The food and service are always excellent, even when they're slammed after an exodus from The Fox. The prices are very reasonable, and I always enjoy the music being played. Baraonda is a Midtown masterpiece! Pros: food, service, atmosphere more

great food, bad bar 2/15/2004

this is definitely a place to try...great food, good music and great service....well, all except the bar...bartender seemed to be spaztic and short fused..he also took forever to make our drinks and get our change....table service and food was excellent.... Pros: inexpensive, great food, great service Cons: , crowded during show more

Excellent 12/31/2003

Such a good deal for really good pizza...3 friends and I ate for $50 (including appetizers) and loved it...even the pasta was way better than expected - park at the georgian terrace and get validated inside Pros: Cheap, Free Parking, atmosphere more

Nice but Undistinguished 11/7/2003

I don't want to say the place is ""average"" because it has a lot of things going for it. The vibe is decent, although the generic trip-hop world beat music is not. The bar is small but friendly, and drinks are way overpriced. The service is okay but our server didn't seem to thrilled to be there. Pizza? Go for the funkier toppings. My margharita pizza was pretty boring. All in all it was thoroughly okay and reasonably priced (except for the call drinks...$9 for a Ketel One with a splash of OJ!?!?!) Oh, one more thing....the calamari could have been from Red Lobster....very dull with no seasoning. Pros: Value, Atmosphere, Nice in-town patio Cons: Bland pizza, Overpriced drinks more

Always looking for authentic Italian... 7/15/2003

...and this is some of the closest I've found. The burro and salvia (sage and butter) white pizza delicious from the wood-fired oven, and the carpaccio was such a treat -- rare to find it done well here. Great wine list. This is always one of my first suggestions when we'redeciding what to eat out! Pros: food, ambience, service Cons: parking more

Not worth the hype 3/14/2003

I had a really terrible experience here about a year ago and decided to give it another shot. Bad idea. The pizza isn't thin and crispy like the critics rave about, its just so-so. Pasta was watery and when I asked about it I was told that ""that's how people like it in Italy"". Great way to treat a customer. And to top it off, I left a 15% tip anyhow (I usually leave around 20%), and the waiter confronted me on the sidewalk to complain about ""the lousy tip"" Pros: nice atmosphere, good bread Cons: cheap pizza cheese, over priced, terrible service more

Like being in Italy! 1/10/2003

This is our all time favorite restaurant in Atlanta! The food is always consistent and the service is always good. They make you feel like you're at home.I could eat their pizza every day! This is as close as it gets to the pizza from the south of Italy, yumm!Great location too. We've been there in large groups and alone and is always the same great experience.I love this place! Pros: Great Pizza, loaction, price Cons: sometimes parking more

My all-time favorite 12/31/2002

Having been to Italy for an extended trip recently, I have found that my initial assessment--that the pizzas here are authentic and as good as many found in Italy--was right. This is great thin crust, wood-fired Italian pizza. Too bad the person who rated this place a ""2"" can't be taken off--he or she must have been under the effects of medication that day. (Also, they tried the pastas, which, although good, aren't nearly as good as the pizzas.) Pros: Great pizza more

Love this place!!! 12/6/2002

Great place for Italian! Baraonda is only a few blocks from our house- so we frequent it often. We have gone in large groups/alone or with just another couple. The service and food has always been great! Their specials- risotto, raviloi and fish specials are usually great! The pizza is brick-oven and gourmet style and always a great stand-bye. They have a good wine list- and are helpful if you want suggestions. Great place to stop before a show at the Fox- but also need to be wary of going during pre-show/ post-show- because it will be packed then. Eating at the bar is good on crowded nights- but a nice romantic table is the corner is even better! Pros: good location, great food, great specials Cons: sometimes packed more

catchy little title goes here 10/24/2002

all I can say is this is my new favorite place. Pros: friendly, great food, charming atmosphere Cons: can get busy on show, on Fox show nights more

Friendly Foe 10/14/2002

It was a slow night the restaurant wasn't crowded, which aided to a romantic candle light dinner. my guest and I ordered the calamari and the caparccio and loved them both. The entree was good but not worth raving about. However, our server was very personable I even found myself laughing out loud at the things we conversed about. I was not able to force another fork full of food down so I opted for limoncello which I was told was made by the bartenders. I definently enjoyed my evening! Pros: appertizers, service more

New Favorite..GREAT Service! 8/28/2002

OK, I have been going out for nice sit down dinners in ATL for about a year now and this place has one of the best atmospheres in town, and hands down the best service in Atlanta. Not to mention the food was excellent. The pizza I had was amazing, the brouchetta was very good, and my date had the lazagna and she really liked it as well. Everything was fantastic...I recommend the pizza! It was also right next to all the Fox, which was pretty convenient! Pros: service, food, atmosphere more

grrrrreat 7/27/2002

Baraonda has geat value for the money. The pizza is outstanding and true neopolitan pizza. I find the lunch service to be fast and efficient. The only drawbacks is the parking which is further away and is very busy on weekend so waits can be a litle long. Pros: great food, great value, great patio Cons: parking, small & busy more

REAL Italian Pizza @last!!! 7/23/2002

I've been in search of italian pizza to remind me of the years i lived in Italy as a child. And i finally found it. Baraonda's is a neat italian eclectic like enviornment one block north of the fox on peachtree. It's ok to eat one all by yourself because they are sooo good!!! And prices are great for the little midtown restaruant. The music, waiters and choice of outdoor seating are great! Pros: walkingdist. of fox, great prices, great pizza! more

Always a pleasure 7/8/2002

Been going to Baraonda since it opened and love it every time! Everything is fresh, waitstaff very friendly and atmosphere is great! Try and go after 730 and miss the Fox crowd. more
