The food was absolutely fantastic, perhaps the best Korean food I've had outside of Asia. more

The BEST Lychee Martinis & Korean Tacos in town. 4/23/2011

Dan is the bartender, and he makes the most amazing lychee martinis. They are so delicious. I don't normally like sweet martinis, because they are usually too sweet/syrupy. Dan's lychee martinis, however, are mellow and...just delicious. Try to get there at Happy Hour (4-7pm) and get 'em for $5 a pop, even though they are worth non-Happy Hour price, too. Bann's spicy pork Korean Tacos are also quite the treat. They're so good, I haven't tried anything else on the menu, and I'm in no rush... Thank you, Dan & Bann! I look forward to you every Friday afternoon! more

Delicious 12/17/2008

I am an American brought by a Korean friend who was recommended by her Aunt. This was my first experience with Korean bbq, and it was great. Pros: the food, the atmosphere, the service, korean bbq! Cons: the price is to be expected, but I would list that here. more

Best Korean BBQ!! 6/19/2008

This place is beautifully designed and great for dates, family meals, or anything that involves good company....there are even tapestries separating the tables that are closer together so you have more privacy. The food is delicious, especially the Korean BBQ which is a ton of fun too! And the staff is friendly, patient, and attentive. Pros: Ambience, Food, Service more

Great food, Great drinks and spotty service 6/14/2007

Let me start out and say that I love the food at Bann. I eat there at least once a month. I take most of my clients there and I have recommended Bann to numerous friends. The appetizers, esp. the chili drumsticks, the dungness crab rolls and the prawn dumplings are excellent. The BBQ is also definately a treat. I get the large prawns in chili sauce and they are wonderfully flavored without being too spicy. I made my monthly trip to Bann last night and ordered my usual fare. I included another staple of mine - the bim bam bop (fried rice with veggies in a stone bowl). Bann lets you add chicken or beef to this dish. Over a dozen times before, I have asked them to add spicy pork instead of the other choices and they complied without a problem. Last night, I was told by the waiter that this substitution was impossible and has never been done in the past. I HATE IT WHEN WAITERS CALL ME A LIAR!! (he also bought me the wrong rice dish but that is another story). Being insulted when I am paying $200+ for dinner with a friend infuriated me and I am still mad today (can you tell???) Pros: great food and drinks, nice unrushed casual dinner Cons: SERVICE by an idiot waiter more

Dishonest staff---check your tips on credit cards! 4/15/2007

Good drinks and nice atmosphere don't make up for the fact that the staff is essentially stealing from customers! I and my coworkers frequent this restaurant after work. I randomly checked my bank account the other day and noticed that the charge from the night before was high. When I called the manager, he said it had been entered correctly at the restaurant, and it must have been an error at my bank. ....seems really unlikely--when I checked with friends, they found that their tips, in the restaurant AND at the bar, had been increased as well. And I had commented on how nice the bartender was. Won't go back there again. more

Romantic, cozy, great service, fabulous food, drinks are h*t or miss...but overall it's my favorite place!! 3/21/2007

I love to dine out in the city, and I try to visit a lot of restaurants. But Bann is still my favorite, for the complete dining experience. It is quiet, cozy and romantic. The service is outstanding...the food is amazing...we always order the jap chae appetizer, rib eye, filet mignon, or black tiger prawn barbecue, fried rice, and hot chocolate cake (best lava cake ever!). Everything is always fresh and delicious. They also give you extra goodies, like salads, and Korean appetizers, also lettuce to make wraps. The drinks are definitely h*t or miss...sometimes they are right on...i did find that the pomegranate martini is always good...so when all else fails! The only thing is that you have to be careful with the fried rice, they serve it with tons of red pepper flakes in it...so we always get it without and they never give us a problem. So if you can't eat too much spicy food, remember to tell them. I love Bann! Pros: Good food...service...and ambiance. Cons: Some drinks are not consistent....can get a little pricey. more

Great restaurant, great lunch 9/6/2006

My co-workers rave about the lunch at Bann so we all decided to go there the other day. While they have a seperate lunch menu we opted to order a few appetizers and barbeque dishes-which were fantastic. The glass noodles and the dungeness crab appetizers were to die for and there was a huge variety of bbq dishes. The service was attentive and courteous. I will definitely be coming back with other co-workers soon. This is a great restaurant and it was a great lunch. Pros: Food, Decor more

Great food Great presentation! 9/6/2006

This place was so much fun! I have to say that the presentation of the food (wasn't crazy about the decor of the place) was amazing. We got the tuna tartare which was was so cool looking on this ice boat and the scallops in a shimp mousse which came out on flaming... what looked like salt. It was a great experience from the wine to the dessert. The bbq part was pretty fun but after a few glasses of wine I was kind of over it. I would suggesst the bbq but not mandatory to have a great time. Pros: Great presentation, attentive staff, delicious food Cons: paper on the windows was cheap looking, walking thru bar to get to seats. more

Bad service 9/5/2006

I went there for lunch with a friend. We waited 45 mins for food without anyone checking on us. I ordered an authentic korean dish (Bean Paste stew - Den Jan ji gae) and it was more like soy stew soup (ghan jang ji gae). The meat they used was the only thing great about the whole meal. If you have two hours to eat lunch, you can manage, but if you want to go out for lunch without getting fired don't go there. Wait staff (Lunch staff) was very green in terms of experience. What distinguishes korean restaurant from other restuarant is the signature side dishes. At Bann, you have to pay for most of the side dishes which is crazy. The ones that comes with the meal are so so. Pros: Ambience Cons: Service and lunch menu. more

Really Awesome Korean 8/9/2006

Bann is beautiful. It's done in simple asian asthetics with great authentic, if a litlte americanized Korean food. Our waiter Ben was amazing. The presentation was beautiful. Our menus came in old school leather scrolls, the dessert menu came in a miniature version of the same. Food was really good. I had the barbeque Short Ribs and it was great. All around, the barbeque is pretty good. You have the option of cooking it yourself at your own table grill or having it cooked in teh kitchen. The presentation of food was great. Dessert was really good. Try the O Mi Cha Dragon, which is a pastry puff with cranberry cream, strawberries and red rice ice cream. The Asian Pear Crumble is really good as well. Try to be inventive when ordering, you won't be sorry. more

Great food, good service 8/4/2006
