My 15 year old dog had been whiny for some time and had really bad breath. Her vet said she was just a fussy old dog and too old to have her teeth cleaned. After a year of fussing and really horrible breath and increasing "fussiness", I decided to get a second opinion., I took her to Banfield and Dr. Geigel (looks young for his age) looked her over and wanted to run some tests. He discovered a large tumor on her spleen and a small one on her liver. He immediately called for surgery. After having removed her spleen, part of her liver, 4 molars and 2 incisors, my dog was on her way to recovery. In just one month, she is happy, healthy, running, jumping and acting like a young pup again. Her fussiness was pain. Her breath was bad teeth. Had I listened to the other doctor, my best friend might not be here anymore. I also saved approx. $800 in costs due to the Banfield Pet Health insurance plan. I did my research and this plan saved me a bundle. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Geigel and his staff. They all loved and cared for my dog as if she were one of their own. Now that my girl is healthy again, she sleeps through the night and so do I. We are once again a happy little family. Thank you Dr. Geigel and Banfield.
