I will NEVER take my dogs back to this or any Banfield hospital. We have been going to this Banfield for over 2 years, and had been patients at the one on Balcones Woods before we moved.
Recently, we took our dogs in for their wellness exams & a growth on one of our dog's paws. My husband made an appointment, and when he got there, he was told they wouldn't be able to see him that day. That has been a pretty consistent problem. We would ALWAYS make appointments, and then have to wait to be seen for an hour or more. I understand there are emergencies, but every time? He dropped them off the next day to be seen. The doctor said he would call my husband around 1pm. At 4:30, we had still not heard back, so I went ahead and called. I was told they were busy and would call me back. At 5:30, I called again. I was told they were busy and would call back. Around 6:00, the doctor finally called - 5 HOURS AFTER THEY SAID THEY WOULD CALL MY HUSBAND!!! He went over our one dog's surgery and that it was sent off to the lab. Then, he proceeds to tell me that my other dog has heartworm & the treatment he would have to undergo. I asked him how that could be possible since I give them their heartworms each month. He seemed a little confused, and then said we could test him again after the new year. So, I would wait 2 and a half weeks to do the test again??? No way. I quickly took them to another vet that I have used as a 2nd opinion in the past - why I never switched over to this other vet the first time, I'm not sure. I went in the next day to the new vet and they did the blood test and sent it off to a lab, and the next day I found out the test came back negative. If I hadn't gotten that 2nd opinion, we would've gone through the $1000+ more treatment that HE DIDN'T NEED!!! Also, I had to take my other dog back to my new vet (Brykerwoods - they are wonderful!!!) because the paw he had surgery on was extremely infected. So, now a ton of money later, we are trying to cancel our stupid "insurance plan" and the corporate Banfield tells me I still have to pay over $300 for the months we haven't used yet. WHAT?!?!?!? DON'T SIGN UP FOR THEIR INSURANCE PLAN!!!! THEY WILL ROYALLY SCREW YOU OVER!!!! Also, my sister went to pick the dogs up from Banfield the day of the disaster visit, and she had to wait OVER AN HOUR to get the dogs. There wasn't a wait or anyone else in front of her. I am disgusted with the customer service present at Banfield. Whatever you do, avoid any Banfield like the plague.
