I attempted to make an appointment with this dentist after being referred by a co-worker, but was dealt with very rudely by the front desk peep, Janice, who challenged my very validity as an insured.
I was asked to fax proof of insurance, which I faxed to her. She then called me back and wanted my SSN and DOB (so she could run a background check on me first?), since ""many people lie about their insurance and then when they get here, we find out they are not insured"". So they don't take cash and also treat all new patients as suspects??
I gave her my DOB, but refused to give her my SSN (who gives out their SSN over the phone these days, esp. when there is no need to?)
She basically acted like I was lying about my insurance and even though I faxed a copy of my insurance card with group and indiv ID numbers, that wasn?t enough for her.
I called back several hours later and was told again very rudely that ""I haven't had a chance to call your insurance company to verify that you are insured ...i haven?t had time ...i will get to it ... cant tell you when ... when I have a chance ...""
I cannot believe the rude and condescending manner of this woman that is running this front office for this poor dentist. Unless she is a relative ... well, they probably wont be in business if I can help it. Esp. since I am one of a chain of referrals and have already spread the word to several others.
P.S. I found another dentist with front office staffer that was not rude, challenging and too busy to take a new patient.
