BBVA---Stay away! 10/11/2011

This is the WORST BANK I have ever done business with. I need to say, here, that I have a very long history of banking at the same location on Cameron Road. I started with First Federal in '81. It was sold to Guaranty around '00. BBVA took over Guaranty, recently. Since that takeover, things have gone downhill, fast. The employee turnover is lightning fast. That says much about the institution, itself. Do you want to see new tellers each time you stop by? Do you feel good about high turnover of people handling your money? BBVA now has done away with deposit slips! Yep, you read that right. Each new thing they pull is a turn for the worse. I could go on, but there are too many things to list. I have moved most of my money out. With this latest no deposit slip stunt, I will close my account, soon. more

Bloodsucker Bank 9/21/2009

This is the most evil banking institution that I have ever encountered! They are evil bloodsuckers that don't try to build relationships with their clients, they demoralize you until you are being harrassed at work, at home, or even on Sunday night with the family. In one day they called me over 20 times (because they have some stupid automated machine calling) because my check hadn't arrived for payment yet. I am sorry for being late by 3 days you idiots! Why don't you come up with some kind of automated payment structure like every other banking institution that is around after the 1980's? I feel horrible for anyone else who has ever owed them more than $94! I even had them call me one morning at 6am! Karma is fun and I can't wait until you bloodsucking debt collectors lose your job and others are unwilling to work with you! Cons: Bloodsucking evil employees more

worst nightmare ever 12/4/2008

I have been banking with this joke for a while now, with their rude little girls working in the lobby and drive tthru etc. the other day I was in the commercial drive thru line and the woman before me did not have a deposit slip, then she needed a pen, then she needed a calculator and finally 25 minutes later she was rolling pennies!!!!! I was blocked in and had to wait until all the people behind me left! they never once told her to go in the lobby. I have waited in the drive thru for up to 30 minutes on many occasions. Their turnover is daily so your always talking with a trainee. I would never recommend this bank and if you have a problem the management is more rude than the trainee! stay away from them, the free checking is not worth it! Pros: none Cons: every nightmare you can think of, they will do it to you more

Horrible Bank....Even worse Customer Service!! 4/15/2008

I have been with Compass Bank for approximately 4 years with checking, savings, and a business account. I have always had my savings tied with my checking. I have never had a service charge on any of my accounts. Last month while checking my accounts online as i usually do with their online banking, i noticed 2 service charges totalling $200.00. I called the bank branch and they advised me to call their 800 number. When i called to ask why i recieved so much in service charges, thinking it was a mistake, they told me it was because i transfered money within my accounts too many times last month. Apparently you can only do 6 transactions! I went through their appeals process which i would like to add was horrible. Everyone basically looks at the last persons notes and gives you the same statement..."someone will call you back within 24-48hours with a decision. I called 4 times over a week and finally had someone call me back from the top of the appeals process and told me that they would only reimburse me $50.00 of the $200.00 as a loyal customer. When i told them i was shocked about just getting back $50.00 due to this being a hug service charge for just moving MY OWN MONEY WITHIN THEIR OWN ACCOUNTS, they tactfully told me that it was disclosed within my paperwork on signing up these accounts and that they didnt have to reimburse me anything, but doing this as a courtesy as i am a loyal and valued customer with no history of service charges." When i said that i will be closing my accounts when i have a chance to take time off from work, she said she was sorry and asked "is there anything else i can do for you? I said, NO THANKS! YOUVE DONE ENOUGH! I was completely shocked at their feelings towards customers. What made me even more mad was the fake feel sorry for you tone of voice she had! It will come to the point soon that people will start stashing money in their matress before trusting banks....WHAT HAPPENED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!?? Pros: Convenient Locations Cons: Horrible Customer Service!! Outragious Service Charges!! more

Christmas wish leave this bank 12/22/2007

This bank has been my bank for years. I just dont have the time to change finance institions. After the holidays my christmas wish is to leave this awful bank behind me. I usually keep a good portion of money in these accounts this christmas my wifes account went over in one day so to remedy this I swiftly moved money from one account to another before it posted. I was still charged the overdraw fees. No comapssion poor customer service and several other issues make them the worst part of the banking system. I feel like the days of keeping money in a can will come back in fashion if all banks treat people like this. more

Joke of a bank 9/4/2007

I don't know who gave the solitary rating before me but by giving this den of thieves anything more than 1 star was obviously a serious lapse in judgment. Maybe they offer free checking but every other service at this bank bites the big one. Free checking is not enough when there is no customer service(I have been hung up on and I have been told I need to talk to the manager about this and that he will call and then never does) and when they chose to process debits faster then CASH deposits! That's right folks, you can walk into a Compass Bank at 9:00am and give them a $1000 in cash for deposit into your account which has $4 till that point and then at 9:00pm that same day you can make a purchase of $5.00 on your debit card. The next day you will have a $36.00 NSF fee because the $5.00 debit will be removed before the $1000 deposit is posted. Was Compass Bank taken advantage of because you made them pay for $1.00 of your purchase? I don't think so; they actually had the money in their bank (earning interest for them) without giving you credit for the deposit on your account. Steer clear people, better yet tell a friend to steer clear as well. Pros: Free checking Cons: Everyting else, outrageous fees and a three ring circus they substitute for customer service. more
