After reading reviews I just need to say Dr. Awad is the best physician I've had in Atlanta. The office staff has never been a problem and I've never waited more than 10 min. to see him. Yes, he takes time to discuss things, and I would suggest him to anyone I know that needed his expertise. more

Dr. Awad is an excellent physician who takes time to address your problem and recommend an appropriate treatment. He is not quick to write a prescription and send you away with yet another bottle of pills and no real answers. I found his staff friendly and accomodating as well. more

I was referred to Dr. Awad about my Neurological Problem after seeing another Neurologist and Neurosurgeon who were unable to diagnosis my problem. I found the office staff to be extremely personable and helpful. Dr. Awad was fantastic. He took all the time he and I needed to educate me on what has been happening in my particular case. He made me feel like I was a person and not just a patient. I would highly recommend Dr. Awad to any of my friends and family. I am a person who appreciates medical professionalism and personal interest.\r \r Merle Jerome Kessler more

Dr. Awad is among the finest physicians I have ever seen. His care and treatment of me has been nothing short of superb. Not only do I not have any reservation in recommending him to anyone, I have recommended him to any and all of my acquaintances with neurological issues. He is extremely patient and takes the time and care to listen to everything you have to say. He is also extremely thorough and thoughtful. more

NeuroCare Center of Atlanta 2/23/2012

My name is Jody, I am the office manager of NeuroCare Center of Atlanta and I have worked with Dr. Awad for over 10 years now. We are a small practice affiliated with the Piedmont Clinic and Piedmont Hospital in the Atlanta area. We are a small office with a solo physician. We try our best to accomodate everyone that needs to be seen. We actually have an excellent record based on thorough evaluations by the patients and the referring physicians. These are sponsored by leading professional companies in the field of hospital and physician service ""evaluations"". We are required to meet certain standards, guidelines and ethics dictated by the profession itself and by the hospital and the clinic administration. We are aware of the fact that we cannot please everyone; it is the advantage of a good health care system to allow the patient to see whoever they please and to select from a variety of practices in the same specialty as they feel appropriate. One way to evaluate a specialist is by the level of communication he or she has with your primary care physician and by making sure that you as a patient, understand your plan of care and ask all the questions that are important to you to participate in your own care. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for understanding that we are privilaged in this country to express our opinions openly and freely. This is a right that we need to protect and of course, show respect and responsibility when we excercise it. more

This doctor is all about money and does not care about people! His staff is exceptionally rude! I had a seizure at work and ended up in the ER. The ER Dr. originally told me was going to give me a prescription for anti-seizure medication for my own safety. When I was discharged, he said he was uncomfortable letting me go w/o anti-seizure medication, but that Dr. Awad had insisted on seeing me w/o medicine and promised he would get me in within a couple days. That was a Wed, the soonest he could get me in was on Mon, and the obnoxious staff made a big deal about how he was doing me a ""favor."" I took off work to be there, and got a phone call in the parking lot mere minutes before my appt from his rude office manager telling me that my appt was cancelled and that I couldn't be upset because he was trying to do me a ""favor."" So I took Thurs morning off too, and upon arrival, found out the limited temporary insurance I have maxes out at $2000, which was eaten up by the ER. They wouldn't see me. I tried calling the ER doctor back, but the nurse wouldn't let me speak to him saying that it is policy that once a patient is discharged, they won't call in a prescription, and that I'd have to be readmitted to the hospital, which I now cannot do. Please please please do not see this doctor. He does not care about people, just your money. If I have another seizure and get injured (or worse, fall down a stairwell and die) because I can't get medicine to protect myself, then that is on his head. This is not my first, so it is not unlikely that I will have another. This doctor should have his medical license revoked. more

Good Doctor 11/18/2010

what is your name and why were just randomly at a trial? (unless you were on trial)\r \r those are strong accusations from an anonymous person. \r \r sounds like he took the stand and used his own name. why cant you speak up using yours (or is it ""imcdizzle"")? \r \r he's a good doctor and an honest man. you obviously don't know him.\r \r David Wilson more

questionable expertise 9/3/2010

I recently sat in on a medical malpractice trial in which Dr Awad was called to the stand as an expert witness. At least six times Dr Awad contradicted his own previously sworn statements. Four sworn-in world renowned experts said his arguments were absolutely wrong. On the witness stand one of these sworn experts said his medical descriptions were ""outrageous, egregious, preposterous"". In closing arguments, his own attorney admitted he was ""easily confused"" and ""looked foolish"". Although he was very pleasant, I would not go to a Doctor with such questionable expertise. more

Front office 10/13/2009

I like Dr. Awad he is certainly not worth visiting due to the rudeness and argumentative attitude of his front office. I have been mistreated by them on several occassions and when I confronted with why they treat ill patients this way they then proceeded to yell at me like a child. He may be a good doctor but not worth his front office abusing you. He gets hundreds of dollars per visit and his office should extend superd service for at that price. Find yourself someone who cares more about his patients ..................... Pros: Great Dr. Cons: poor front office etiquette more

Great Doctor 7/4/2005

My wife has struggled with her problem for years. We've seen many Dr.s in the Atlanta area. None have had the success Dr. Awad has had. Dr. Awad knows his skill very well. He found the perfect medication for her. Because of this her she has been practically problem free for over 5 years. Something no other Dr. has been able to accomplish. Admitidly sometimes, as other reviewer stated, you can spend a long time in his waiting room. Mostly because Dr. Awad takes the time necessary with each patient on a personal basis to listen to what is wrong. It's hard to judge how long an appointment may take. Therefore the long waits. In short, the world could use more Dr.s like him. This says a lot, I'm VERY critical of Dr.s more

Too Busy 5/11/2005

Dr. Awad seemed innundated with work and this led to a sense that he was not as attentive as I would expect a physician to be. He forgot prescription information, could not locate lab results that were nearly two weeks old and actually sent me off to the lab to hunt for them. When I found myself in distress, I phoned his office and found myself talking to a rude Nurse Practicioner who offered little assistance. When confronted with this Dr. Awad attributed it to my HMO until I informed him that I had a PPO and they do not interfere with treatment. Pros: well trained, bright, good clinical skills, good locale Cons: too busy, too busy, cannot own mistakes, long, long waits more
