I have been going to this Aveda Institute on and off for almost 8 years and I love it!! The only reason it has been on and off is because I haven't lived in Albuquerque consistently in the last 5 years. I usually just get a cut however I had them do hilights once and those were also fantastic. You have to keep in mind that this is a learning environment and the students are trying to learn, you can't go in and just ask for a trim. My best cuts here have been when I let the stylist do pretty much whatever. After my first several hair cuts they started only sending me to their ""seasoned students"" who are near completion of the program, which is very nice! You can't beat the price, for a wash, scalp massage, and cut with tip I pay less than $20. So if you're looking for a fresh look at a cheap price this is the place to go - Just make sure to be very specific about likes and dislikes when it comes to hairstyles!! The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because of their hours, since they are a school they do go on breaks, and I am sometimes there more than 2 hours because the instructors really want to be involved.
