Avalon Steakhouse

I am an Early Bird Special Lover. I seek out any kind of special I can get with the price of gas these days. I saw an ad in the paper for Avalon Steakhouse. They had an Early Bird Special for Prime Rib advertised, so I decided to try it out. YUMMIE!!! The prime rib I decided to get was the smaller of the two. 8oz Prime rib dinner with a potato and a salad for $12.95. i was worried about what it would look like at that reasonable price, but I was surprised at the size of my meal. The prime rib was wonderful.....and the inside of the restaurant was beautiful. Thanks Avalon and BRAVO! Pros: THEY HAVE EARLY BIRD SPECIALS more

I had some important clients coming to town and I decided to take them to dinner at the Avalon. The service was prompt and our dinners were exceptional. We ordered quite a variety of meals. A few of my clients had steaks and shrimp, while others indulged in Lobster tails. My clients were very impressed. The size of the Lobster tail alone almost knocked us out of our seats. We ended our meals with coffee and dessert. Their bread pudding is one that could rival my Mothers famous homemade bread pudding. I really can't say what the food tastes like. We did not get that far. After waiting 20 minutes by the hostess stand we were finally seated in a nearly empty dining room with tables so close together you felt like you were at camp. 30 minutes passed with out our drink order being taken. I sought out the ""manager"", who was found with her feet up behind the bar, and was waved away with a ""Aw they probally forgot ya""! It was unreal that this place had been so highly recomended! We will not be giving it a second chance. Pros: clean Cons: you would get better service in an army mess tent. more

I have been to alot of Steakhouses, and Avalon is now rated in my top three all time favorite places to eat. My steak was cooked to absolute perfection, and my server suggested an absolutely deliteful bottle of Liberty School Syrah, to accompany my steak. I couldn't resist trying one of their many desserts. I chose the carrott cake.....wow what a piece of cake it was. I just want to stand up and cheer that Avalon is here!!!! Thank you for a delightful experience. I had my first dining experience at the Avalon tonite, and all I can say is I loved it. My husband and I havn't been out in a while, and since we never tried the Avalon, we decided to eat there before catching a movie. We ordered their Ribeye steaks. They were cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed a Bread pudding dessert and a fabulous cheesecake dessert, although we could have shared one, because their portions are so big. The service was wonderful, both friendly and prompt. Wow, pretty much sums up my experience at Avalon. My company had a party there last night, and I couldn't believe how good the food was. We were able to try a little bit of everything. We had a seafood appetizer, stuffed mushrooms, and calamari to start. For dinner my wife and I had the filet mignon, which was superb. However when I saw the prime rib come out on a plate for one of my co-workers, I was a little jealous I couldn't try it, but there is always next time. I will be back and will tell all my friends and family about the Avalon. I cannot emphasize how wonderful our experience was there. From the food to the service we received, its five star all the way. Great job Avalon! I am so glad I walked into the Avalon. My friend and I were celebrating a recent job promotion and decided to treat oursewlves to a 4 star dinner. I had heard mixed reviews of the Avalon and decided to try it for myself. I ordered the Surf and Turf, my friend ordered the Filet Mingnon. Although the market price of the Surf and Turf was pricey, I will say that when I saw the plate nearing my table, I couldn't believe the size of the lobster tail. I was impressed with the presentation, and more that pleased with the taste of the lobster and steak. I didn't know I could get a lobster tail like this anywhere in Oklahoma!!!!! I will be back!!!!! My husband had a surprise Birthday party for me at the Avalon. I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience I had there. All 18 of my guests were pleased with the service as well as the quality of the food. I will definitely be back. I highly reccomend their steaks. All of my guests raved about it for days. I had lunch at the Avalon this afternoon with four of my co-workers. I couldn't believe how great their lunch menu was. All five of us had their Kansas city stips which came with a potato and salad. The steaks were great and the bill was even better. I was amazed that five of us ate steaks , a side, and salad, for under $11 dollars a piece. What a great find for lunch. I never knew they had such a great selection. Their staff was friendly and their service was good. more

I went to dinner @ the Avalon with my wife for our anniversary and we had a wonderful evening. We had the Chatteaubriand for two. It was a the best dinner I have had in quite a long time. They had a great wine selection and a huge dessert menu. I was quite surprised to see how beautiful the inside of their facility was as well. It is a great place for an Anniversary celebration, or just a casual night out for the family. Thumbs up for the Avalon Steak House. more

I Just wanted to let everyone konw that The Avalon Steak House has the best steaks in Tulsa. I have dined there in the evening as well as lunch. The steaks were fabulous, and the server I had was wonderful. If you want a great steak go to the Avalon. If you are on a budget their lunch menu is a great value for the menu they offer. I have had wonderful experiences there and would reccomend it to all! more

Who is this Stingray74? The review is just craziness!!!! Customers cannot refill their own drinks! I have been their a ton of times and if a customer refilled his own drink, he would be ran over by the waitstaff in their little area!! I have never had a bad experience while dining at the Avalon. The waitstaff is always willing to provide me with refills or extra butter, sour cream or dinner rolls. Stingray74's review is below and I think it is nuts!! We experienced our worst dining experience at Avalon in the 18 years we have been married. The worst service, rude management and staff, burnt and cold steaks, cold baked potato, we had to get our own drink refills, rolls, butter, sour cream, etc... Our meals also came out 1 at a time. I totally agree with barrabajaggle on thier opinion of how the quality of the resturant has changed.. I've been to the old location and loved everything about it.. Now when I went back to the new location and it done a complete turnaround.. nothing is the same anymore... I was even shocked about how the prices had skyrocked.. of course.. they've got to pay for the newer upscale place.. not my style anyways. more

My fiancee and I went to Avalon Steakhouse over Labor Day weekend and we were very impressed with the food quality and service. This was my first time there and an old favorite for my fiancee. The steaks were excellent as were the bread and side items. The Long Island iced tea was out of this world and was a big part of why we chose Avalon for dinner. It's amazingly smooth and a must, even at $9. Our server, Jorge, did a fantastic job of taking care of us and made us feel welcome to enjoy our time. Overall, an excellent experience and one I would highly recommend. We live 450 miles from Tulsa but will include this as a tradition for each visit. more

Do not buy a gift certificate from here! My parents got one for their 50th anniversary, and only were sent a card in the mail. It said they were to pick up the gift certificate there. The mgr was too busy to speak to them, but sent the waiter to say if they really had a gift certificate, she would have a copy, and she didn't have ANY gift certificates that were to be picked up. They paid for their meal, went home, left a msg, and the mgr called them and very nicely explained no gift certificate was there for them. My mother called the person who had purchased it, who called the steakhouse, and was told by the mgr that she had found the certificate right after she told my mother for the SECOND time no gift certificate existed. Also that she had lost my mother's phone number, so didn't know who to contact about it, so my mother should call back AGAIN. My mother tried TWICE, and was told both times the mgr was too busy to talk to her. My father refuses to ever go back anyway, but I can't believe the mgr of the steakhouse wasn't willing to go the extra mile and call my parents. or just mail them an ACTUAL gift certificate and letter of apology! more

The Avalon used to be an icon for fine beef. The last time I was there....and it will be the last time, was after they opened the new facility. The filet that I always had before, and used to be the finest beef I have ever had.......was inedible. There is no other way to describe it. It tasted like it was soaked in gasoline and then dropped into the coals to incinerate. And I ordered it medium rare. After two bites......one from the edge and one from the center, we both sent the meal back and left. In addition to the awful taste, the meat was full of gristle. It seems to me that the Avalon is sacrificing quality in order to pay for their new building, and shamefully disgracing the once fine name of the Avalon Supper Club. I mourn the passing of a once fine dining establishment. more

I have heard advertizements about Avalon Steakhouse for years and finally got to try it first hand. Wow! the adds were correct. The only down side is the location but that is very minor. The food, service, and atmosphere were all teriffic. more

If you want to feel like your the only one that they are waiting on this is the place. Avalon is known for there sevice with a smile and a personal touch. I've been going there for years and have never been dissatisfied with sevice or there great food. Pros: watching food cook, picking your steak more

This steakhouse is very awesome! If you want a great steak, head on over to Avalon. It's one of the best steaks I've had in Tulsa. Avalon has a ""hole-in-the-wall"" atmosphere but it's very unique. I will definitely be going back there in the near future. Writing this review is making me crave one of their thick, juicy steaks so I need to stop writing. more
