I had called the local number in Richland hills for a quote on having a complete top installed.left 1st message and waited 24 hours with no response . Then I tried again with no answer I left him a second message , several hours later was sent a text saying he was to busy to return calls , but instructed me to put in text what I needed and he would go from there. I was looking for someone to do a several thousand dollar job and didn't feel good about dealing with nothing more than a text message , when I told him I was not happy with his business practices and would put a review about his customer service he showed no concern and only said "it's all good , so I found someone that did want my business and took the time to answer my questions , more

Excellent Owner, Excellent Place!! 1/6/2013

I searched for upholstery shops after my Son came into town for the Holidays who is stationed in Fort Drum N.Y.and drove many miles on a not so comfortable seat. After leaving Texas they stopped in Ne.overnight, and finally Chicago to see the rest of the family. Needless to say I too placed a blind call to James' shop. Well let me tell you that I received nothing short of Excellent Service. I spoke directly to James, thursday before Christmas and explained the short period of time that my son would be in town, and will be leaving on the 26th. I was impressed by his willing to help since he was pressed in time. James arranged for John, a Tech to re-foam the seat that same afternoon. And let me say this, it is quality work!! That was my eperience dealing directly with James, therefore I will be in touch with him for other upholstery needs, per our last conversation!! more

I'm a satisfied customer. I had my sun visors and head liner re-worked. The prices were reasonable and the quality of work is great! I will add that all the bad comments is what drew me to this business, so keep up the good work! I'm sure they appreciate it! Satisfied in Bedford more

Good: Initial quote was cheap and appeared to be friendly.. Bad: JAMES was very AGGRESSIVE towards me when work that was promised was not complete.. Improvements: James to be put in jail for destroying my car and refusing to put the parts back together. Employee's stated that they would be fired if they assisted me with assembly of vehicle so that it could be driven off of property.. Other: Please NEVER allow any of your family or friends to conduct business with this company. FYI this business is not a member of the BBB!. more

I drove around for quotes for my headliner. Decided to come to this place and glad I did. I read the reviews online to every place I went and saw one person had a horrible expierence here. Chose to give the benifit of the doubt and check it out. Great price and even better service. 5 stars more

Came in to get my passenger seat fixed that had a coulpe rips and wear from it just being old. The owner was respectful and very fair with the price. I'll go back to him without a doubt for anything else I'll ever need. Quick reliable and friendly place. Recommend to friends. more

It's unfortunate to hear that people who want poor quality come into Auto Upholstery Needs Inc. because James Martinez will do the job right, and will exceed anyones expectations. James IS the owner of the store and has built it literally from the ground up. This man knows what he is doing! It's almost embarrassing that someone as yourself, Anne, would try and ruin business from where your own friend is employed. James has a very professional attitude and I always feel welcome when I enter his business. Knowing James, he would never charge someone from their lack in taste and would rather do the job right and pay for it himself. In your case, you should feel blessed. Most upholstery shops would over charge you for your ideas with them even knowing that glue would seep through. "Anything for a dollar" is NOT how James handles business. Quality is key. I believe he used a different fabric (which by the way was BLACK SUEDE like you brought in, just not YOUR material because it wasn't quality) because yours may have been too thin and I don't think you'd want visors wih glue seeping out all throughout them now would you? I didn't think so.. Take it from a very satisfied customer, Auto Upholstery is top notch! more

BAD BUSINESS 5/10/2010

I recently took my visors to Auto Upholstery Needs Inc in Richland Hills, Texas. I brought along the fabric I wanted as it matched the headliner of my car. My only request was that I have the mirrors back on. I stressed that the importance of my visors laid in the mirrors. James seemed nice and said 'those won't be a problem to wrap.' After retrieving my visors there were no mirrors on it. I wasn't even given my mirrors back. My visors were upholstered in a completely different fabric. When this was addressed, James found no fault in what he had done... The principal is that if I wanted my visors wrapped in YOUR fabric then I would have paid for that. Instead, he offered no apology or solution and threw it in my face that he had used a different fabric, therefore he paid for my visors. Not once did I receive a call from James about the mirrors being unable to be put back on. Or that my fabric was impossible to use as a wrap. A friend of mine had used his own fabric from a fabric store with no issue... I have had a mediator contact James about possibly rectifying the situation. James simply yelled at my mediator and hung up. I would never recommend this place to anyone. James has yelled at me and even told me that if I wanted to, I could apply for a job at this place and become his public relations assistant and until then, 'don't tell me how to run my business I've been doing this for 19 years!' He is a very aggressive individual and to think that he OWNS this place! Also, his assistant John is just as aggressive and rude! more
