We've used Aurora Kennel for grooming and boarding of our dog for 10+ years, and it's without a doubt the cleanest, best animal care facility I've ever found. We looked into boarding her with our old vet; their boarding facility was heartbreaking - hot and filthy! A friend told us about Aurora Kennel and we've referred several other friends over the years. But let me warn you, if your pet isn't well cared for, i.e. up to date on vaccines, no current sickness, fleas/ticks, etc. - don't bother because their motto should be ""healthy in/healthy out"". Be ready to be questioned about your dog's habits, illnesses, and health record - for the sake of all pets being cared for at Aurora. I certainly appreciate this because I know my dog is protected and won't come home sick. The most telling thing of all though is that if I utter the name 'Julie' my dog practically breaks the door down getting to the car, goes crazy when we take the 61st street exit, then barrels in the front door - she LOVES going there. My vet paid the Aurora Kennel owner the ultimate compliment - she said ""that lady knows more about dogs than anyone I've ever met."" We board our dog several times a year, for up to 3 weeks at a time, and I never think twice about her happiness and safety at Aurora - they treat her like their baby just as we do!
