The staff at AV South are true professionals. These guys know their equipment and how to set it up. They never "over sell" me, and they take more than enough time to demo their systems. If you are tired of big box stores with horrible return policies, and clueless kids for employees, go to AV South. I no longer shop online because their staff and store are just that good. more

Audio Visions Exceeds Expectations. 10/1/2011

Beginning with my first visit with George, I was impressed. George listened carefully to the requirements that I was looking to fulfill and assisted in helping to identify the correct speakers and amplifier for our room. Additionally, while the speakers would take 10 weeks to arrive, George allowed us to borrow a similar speaker until ours arrived. When the team showed up to install the system, they displayed strong knowledge and skills in the set up. They were extraordiarly effecient, clean and considerate in making the installation and the end result exceeded my expectations. While I await the speakers that I ordered to arrive before Thanksgiving, we are enjoying music and movies on the new system. My thanks to George for his guidance and expertise with the new system. We look forward to years of enjoyment from the new system. more

I should have done this sooner 9/22/2011

After literally years of avoiding the temptations of visiting George's candy shop, Audio Visions South I made the plunge and paid them a visit. Knowing that this would end up costing me some money, I also knew that my aging stereo system components could have used a serious facelift. Over the course of a year of numerous store visits, equipment auditions, incessant streams of questions and research looking for the biggest bang for the buck I feel the Audio Visions crew, in particular, George, Clark and Ariel not only put up with my personal process but quided me, with no pressure, to making the right decision. I couldn't be happier with the new Magnepan MG-3.7's. They are incredibly great sounding speakers and the right ones for me. Thanks. more

GoldenEar Triton Tower speakers 3/25/2011

I was interested in upgrading to full range speakers for my office. I visited Audio Visions South and Chris Trojnar introduced me to a new speaker that they were excited about. I was allowed to listen to the GoldenEars for an extended period of time without interruption. Chris even set them up in a similar sized listening room with similar electronics to mine. I was amazed by these speakers. Their presence and imaging are excellent - similar to a planer speaker. The low end is deep, clear and accurate. I have never heard a more realistic double-bass. The highs are crystal clear without any brittleness. It was the midrange that reproduced a 9' Steinway so well that really sold me. After a month of break-in, I can honestly say the Tritons sound even better. I am re-discovering music from my LP and CD library and am experiencing excitement that I have never had before. Thanks so much! more

Audio Visions south was fanatstic great products and even better employees 7/15/2010

I have put entertainment systems in homes in Los Angeles,San Francisco and now Tampa.This has been my best experience so far. Nothing ever goes as smooth as you would like it yet this experience was very close and anything that did not go smooth was fixed on the spot.Chris was awesome and his team. who came to the house like Matt were also fantastic.I would never use anyone else in Tampa. more

Great People, Great Gear, Great Advice - Go Listen For Yourself! 5/22/2010

Whether you are a dedicated audiophile or just want to get great sound with no hassle, you can't go wrong with Dave and George. Dave has been my sounding board for several years now as I have worked on incremental upgrades to my system, and he has always given me excellent advice about how to get the most bang for my buck. He has been a font of information on the latest developments in the industry. His patience with me when I put off big purchases in favor of smaller changes won my loyalty, and when I do need to make that big purchase, there's nowhere else I will go. And for anyone who is intimidated by the thought of going in to a high-end store for the first time and buying components from companies that you have not previously been familiar with, you can rest assured that you will have the best possible experience at Audio Visions South -- not only are they very friendly and low-key, the gear that they represent is absolutely the best in the industry. more

Reliable, Honest, and Knowledgeable! 5/16/2010

We were builing a second home in Tampa and wanted a good company to install our Flat screens and music system. They were highly recommended by our building. They did a beautiful job. Dealing with David and Matt was a pleasure. We will continue to be loyal customers for now on and would highly recommend them. more

Very professional from sales through installation. 5/11/2010

Sales staff took the time to educate us on the products they sell and presented multiple options that would fit our needs. The options presented were completely listed and all prices were correctly quoted. This allowed us to choose the quality level and pricing that best suited our needs and budget. Dave and Clarke visited our home to make sure we understood how the entertainment system would work in our home before we made the final purchase. It is now several months later and we could not be more pleased. more

Excellent Industry Knowledge and Unlimited Patience 4/2/2010

I was very impressed with the product knowledge of the folks at Audio Visions South. All I had to do was mention the components that I had at home, and Clarke and George knew exactly my equipment capabilities and sound textures. The staff at AVS are walking encyclopedias of AV knowledge. It sure made the shopping experience comfortable to know I was working with someone who could understand what I was looking for and make recommendations based on broad industry knowledge. I was also amazed at the non-pressure sales approach. Clarke actually convinced me that some of the products I originally wanted to purchase were not only unnecessary, but in fact would degrade the sound quality of my system. Instead he made recommendations of how I might make my budget go further. And when it came to evaluating products, he was exceptionally patient. I had all the time I needed to listen to any equipment I was interested in without ever feeling rushed and ample opportunity to ask detailed questions. more

AV South has again met and exceeded our expectations 10/17/2009

Again Dave presented us with choices that were exactly what we needed. This time it was a new control system for our home theatre but it met all of our requirements and expectations. The installation techs were both effecient and helpful in setting up and customizing the system to met our needs. Fantastic service, Knowledgeable and Professional! 10/8/2009

Working with George and Clarke was one of the most pleasant and easiest experiences we have had dealing with a home imporvement project. They knew every piece of equipment that was discussed, made recommendations based upon what our needs were both long and short term and followed up on EVERY detail and information request. We were very demanding in what we wanted and more importantly, the quality of the work to be performed. The installation was a difficult one and others had said there was no way what AVSouth did could be done, but of course they did it exactly as they said. George, Clarke and their crew were professional, on time and respectful of the property and our time. They did what they said they would do and more. We couldnt be happier with the system and to this day, if we ever have a question, they respond day and night. more

A pleasurable experience as always for this repeat customer 10/6/2009

I purchased some additions/upgrades to my speaker system and am thrilled with the products I received. But that's only a part of the story when buying from AVS. It's hard to walk out of there without learning a little (or a lot of) something. The folks at AVS aren't just salespeople. They have a genuine passion for their products and the technology in general. I must have spoken to George Liu for a solid hour about this and that before making my purchase. As usual, it was a low pressure, high enlightenment visit and I'll be back! more

Great Hi-Fi shop 10/6/2009

I visited Audio Visions South earlier in 2009 when I began to consider upgrading my old mediocre sound system. As I began my journey into the world of higher end audio, I really appreciated the patience and knowledge with which Dave Liu guided me through the options. They didn't use any high-pressure sales tactics rather simply demonstrated the phenomenal equipment to allow the equipment to sell itself. They were very gracious to setup any equipment I asked for. They offered me a good price and treated me with respect and with a friendly attitude. I'd certainly recommend AV South to a friend looking for a great place to shop for the finest in audio and video. more

wonderful store, equipment, staffing 10/5/2009

Have worked with AVS more than 20 years. Prime source for audiophile and AV equipment + information and installations. Friendly staff to guide a customer to the items that meet their needs at a much better quality level than mass-market items at comparable cost. Sales and service available also for turntables and audio equipment from Linn and others. I have always been pleased with AVS services and support and the great knowledge base that George has in his head! Tampa area is indeed fortunate to have this caliber of store and personnel here. more
