We recently stayed at one of the areas hotel and it was not long until we found out all of these Ocean Drive Restaurants will try and offer great dinner and drink specials then deny they ever said a thing or claim they misunderstood and all they can offer is a 2 for 1 drink special. Knowing this I called the Atlantic Bar and Grill to confirm dinner specials for my party of 8 six children and 2 adults.I was told by the manager 2 for 1 drinks and buy one entree and receive the other free. This was wonderful as the entrees averaged $40.00. The service was great the food was cold and lousy but worst of all was the bill from this so called Legal Entity Of A Restaurant a eye popping $400.00 yes 4 hundred us dollars. I approached the manager to correct this oversight and his response was there was no oversight. He denied ever talking to me and further went so far as stating he does not even answer the phone. Watch out bait and switch what is one suppose to do---you have to pay the bill. I swear I made them 1 promise and that was to uncover this establishment for what it is. A Dirty Dive that is front ended nicely with lousy cold food and worst of all a bunch of CROOKS more

So after reading the other reviews, we may have not been ripped off as others. But this place is a joke! There's some skanky girl in a short skirt out the front who doesn't even speak clear English whoring the place out with lies and deceit. She called us over and said we'd get get 20% off our bill, 2 for one drinks and a free shot each. Well, we got the free shot which was some blue shit in a Skol vodka bottle that made me want to puke because it tasted like rubbing alcohol with blue food coloring. We didn't get 2 for 1 drinks- in fact we paid $9 for 2 fountain cokes which were mostly ice( no refill). We didn't get 20% off the bill either. The total came to $39.06 for a salad (with no meat) and cheese sticks. People were getting up and leaving all the time without ordering after realizing the lack of service provided.\r DO NOT GO THERE!! - the food may have not been awful, but way way over-priced for what it is and the staff mislead and lie to you to get you there.\r There are a lot better places nearby with that don't rip you off that serve the same cocktails and better food at a responsible price. more

I went there just yesterday for dinner. The girls out front swoop you in by offering 2 for 1 drinks and 20%off your meal GREAT! Until the bill comes... The waiter was real friendly. Offered specials. BUT, left out very important information about the specials, like the cost.\r The food was not good, the meal was super expensive. DO NOT ORDER THE SPECIALS. The waiter told us that it was either 2 for 1 drinks OR 20%off, NOT BOTH as we were told when they swooped us in. The so-called manager did take off the 20% and did give us 2 for 1 drinks. She was terrible. I thought the customer was ALWAYS right?\r THE ENTIRE DINNER WAS A WASTE OF MONEY...\r \r **** DO NOT EAT THERE *** more

Same as the last reviewer, we just got back from a bad restaurant and was starved. We got hustled in there by the blond hostess/manager with a discount card. The food wasn't bad, service was minimal at best. Not worth the 17% auto gratuity. I know because I'm in the industry from Vegas. I wouldn't go back again nor would have gone there if I read the reviews. However, if you want a decent place, walk south a couple of blocks and eat at "a fish called avolon" we got the Miami spice menu and it was an awesome 3 course dinner at $35 each. more

I just read the other reviews and wouldn't have gone there if I had read them beforehand. However, we were starving after a long drive, so we settled for this restaurant close to our hotel. Although I agree the food was overpriced, I didn't have the impression it was such an awful place. Food and service were ok, but nothing memorable. I will probably try other places the next time around. more

Please, please do not go there!!!\r This place is indeed a ripoff!!!\r I was just there with my wife and two kids... they advertised LUNCH SPECIAL.... but what a special it is!!! we ended up calling the police so they could intercede for us... $25 US drinks, $24 US for a Budweiser, $6 for a Sprite, $16 for a lemonade, $55 for an Appetizer platter, ... while we were there two other tables walked out... it is very dissapointing those of use who work in the hospitality industry to see these kind of businesses operating and robbing blindly!!!! Miami City must do something to stop them... my wife was in tears and my children were nervous thinking that the officers were going to take me.... what do you think.... should I contact a lawyer...??? BTW, the manager (a very aggresive lady),,, she was in her bike chasing customers.... they should close this place!!! more

If you like to get ROBBED and I mean it, latterly robbed, then this is the spot to go. They get you drunk with their cheap vodka to the point that you don't realize how and what they charged you for!! This restaurant is nothing but a scam and the staff are trained to rip customer's off blindly. I was there on May 21, 2010 for dinner and the reason we choose this place was because they were advertising $15 steak!!!! We ordered our food and the pushy server offered us their "SPECIALS" of the night without mentioning their over priced food platter that she brought to us. The next day I realized I was charged $283.58 for "The special dinner". They add the tip into the bill, however, they asked for more tip- funny isn't it. \r I called the restaurant to let the manager know, but all I got was that I didn't ask for the prices and the $15 steak advertised on their board didn't mean that we would get the same thing " I still don;t know what the fuck that meant". DON'T GO THEIR UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ROBBED, AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT" more

This place is a total scam. The girl hawking on the sidewalk said 20% off and free shots. The menu suggested the paella dish was $67.50....my girlfriend and I were going to split it. When we received the bill it was $67.50 EACH. Had to remind the waitress 3 times to get a free shot....crappy shot. Ordered a vodka and cranberry.....came in about a quart size for $19.00....got so drunk I didn't realize we never got the 20% discount until the next day. The lobster was broiled and dried out, took a to go box and looked at it the next day...2 pounds of rice....$250 for dinner and cheap vodka hangover! more

This place should be closed for business. They offer two for one cocktail drinks for $25 but, and if you're with someone you are under impression that you are getting two drinks for 25 dollars BUT NO, once you finish your cocktails you need to order another one because that is part of the offer??? Two orders at 25 dollars each...Anyway, they created this scam to trap tourists. They didn't trap me, I called the police and they fixed the bill immediately. more

We found this restaurant while just walking ocean drive in south beach and being haggled. Perhaps this was our first mistake. Food was very overpriced, only so-so in quality, and service was less than attentive. Advertised specials were not as such. Drinks were voluminous, making it nearly impossible to take advantage of the two for one (per person, not party) deal. more

My husband and I were restaurant "shopping" on Ocean Dr.(for those of you who have been there, you know it can be a bit overwhelming). We decided on the Atlantic basically because of its ambiance: cool music, decor and one of the most impressive food displays I've ever seen!\\r \r We started off with tasty and huge mojitos! $25 bucks a pop but well worth the money. Other places on Ocean Dr.(like Mangos) charged us $16 dollars for a mojito that we finished in 4 sips!\r \r We had a very nice calamari appetizer. Then ordered an impressive seafood platter for 2. You name it it had it! Lobster, fish, crab, shrimp. We were in seafood heaven!!!\r \r We befriended a group at the table next to us. When their paellia came out I was a bit jealous! What an incredible presentation and according to them...as delicious as it looked! My next visit will be for that paellia!\r \r All in all a very very nice evening on Ocean Dr.!!!\r \r Fantastic food + incredible servcice +ambiance = I will be back again!!! more

If you sto at the Atlantic Bar and Grill be sure to ask the drink price when they offer 2 for 1 speicals. We didnt and found the three drinks cost us $75.00. They should be ashamed of themselves. Terrible place! more

I thought it was one of the better places I'd been to so far. The Cuban sandwich was good and the booze was good. You get two giant drinks for $25at lunch or two beers for $8. Most of the places on ocean drive seem to have the same deal but it was a pretty good time. more

The food was good. They had a flyer that advertised special prices for certain plates and a two for one drink special during lunch; the menu was not limited to the entrée specials. My boyfriend ordered the grilled chicken penne pasta and I had the flank steak with beans, rice, and plantains. Both plates were from the lunch special menu of $9.50 each. I thought the portions were good as well as the price. Service was also good; wait staff was very attentive. The restaraunt is located on 12th and ocean. more

Had dinner, and breakfast here. Breakfast was great for the value at only $4.2 for the special. Dinner was ok, I had the steak special $14.95. I order median-well, and they gave me very-well done, I return it and they gave me well-done. I gave up, I dont think they know how to cook steak. My wife had the grill seafood special, which had no price on it and it was great, but what do you expect for a $75 plate. Which I waitress told me when I told her my steak was still over cooked, she said "what do you expect for a $15 steak (how nice). You would expect nicer customer service, with an automatic 18% tip at the end of your bill. FYI always ask for price on any item that don't have a price on it, usally a tourist trap. more

As fas as tourist rip off locations are concerned, there should be a spot for Atlantic Bar & Grill at Guinness Book of Records.\r \r What do you think about a dinner for three and a $700.00 tab for a lousy food presented as paiella (prepared decades ago)! belligerent waiters and lousy service. more

What a treat! I love to people watch and this place is PERFECT for just that. Not to mention the best OJ on SoBe. Food portions are perfect and the chef manages to make an egg-white omelette taste like HEAVEN! \r \r Great drinks too! So big you want to swim in them instead of at the beach. Definitely a Sunday morning must. more
