I can't give this place zero stars 2/2/2012

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My first visit was for a denture hard reline; when I walked out, I had a set of dentures that (for the first time ever) fit amazingly well. He took about 45 minutes to fit them, using some paste that showed him exactly where things rubbed, and allowed him to fit the dentures by slowly grinding away, a little at a time. In the end, they fit perfectly. The second time I went in for a re-line I said to the office staff when I scheduled the appointment that I needed them done that day, and that I needed time to have them fit after the re-line. An early morning appt. was scheduled so I'd have them back in a couple of hours. They failed to schedule time to have them fit after. When I got my denture back, I could not even get it IN MY MOUTH (and I knew this would happen, hence the request for time to have them fit). The dentist (some young kid) simply smoothed out the entire interior of the denture making them easy to get in, and removing all contours that would provide a seal - when I opened my mouth, they literally fell to my tongue. She was in such a hurry (another employee was waiting outside the door to my room, for to go to lunch) that she just indiscriminately ground away all the plastic. In addition to this, they were sandy and gritty all over. Really, the teeth, the plastic "gums" even in the middle, where they should seal to my palate, all felt like they were part of a sand painting. I complained and sent them back 3 or 4 times, and gave up. When I complained, I got another appointment, and the same dentist offered to grind away more, and I just walked out. She was sassy, and arrogant, and childish. She interrupted me and it was awful. So, I complain again, that I'm having headaches and gagging and so on and that my teeth are rough and chafing the inside of my lips. They offer me another appointment with another dentist. So I go again, and she puts in a soft liner, and that's helpful, only when she sends it back to the lab to be trimmed up, they create all these sharp edges and actually manage to fold some of the liner into the denture so it doesn't fit AGAIN! They just cut that part out, and tell me to use adhesive. When I ask the dentist to send the teeth back to the lab to be polished, because there are sharp parts, and gritty, sandy, parts, and actually soft liner lodged in the cracks between teeth and in the molars, they come back and the teeth have divots ground out of them. I complain, again, and they say that it will eventually be polished smooth by eating … again to the lab and back 3 or 4 times. The last time, the person in the lab actually rolled their eyes at me and sighed. So, after THREE trips to the dentist, I have dentures that fit worse than when they started, and are now sandy, sharp and abrasive. The office manager came in and asked me to pay for the procedure ahead of time. This, even when I have dual dental insurance that has always covered 100%They said that I would still owe $135, on a procedure totaling just less than $300. I said that I should owe nothing. Then, just before my second visit, the office manager comes in and says that my primary paid $112, and my secondary paid $53. So I would owe $133, can I pay that before I see the dentist please? I say no, between my primary and secondary, I will owe nothing. I also say that I'll call my insurance and ask what's the issue. When I get home and call, my primary has, indeed paid 80%, but the check had only gone out the day before, and the secondary had not yet even gotten billing from Aspen - Much less paid anything. Given what I was told, and what I found in my online EOB from my insurance companies, I can only conclude that they are intentionally fraudulent. The numbers that they gave me in the office bore no resemblance to reality, and were intended to get me to pay more than I should. DO NOT GO TO ASPEN DENTAL. more

would recommend to anyone.... 12/11/2011

i liked the advantage of making appointments over their webpage. it always takes me 2 or 3 days to remember to make the call to schedule an appointment - :0) the appointment was fast, efficient and thorough. I really liked the dental hygenist that worked on my teeth..... all of the staff that i had contact with - were polite, friendly, patient and understanding....... felt comfortable as if i was in a friendly, small town-neighborhood dentist office...... more

friendly 11/30/2011

What a friendly staff! I was very worried that I wasnt going to beable to afford my procedures but this care credit card is great! I think every medical office should offer this. Everyone there has such pretty smiles and are so willing to take the time to explain everything. My appointment was kind of long but I think that had a lot to do with the great explainations. Great staff Aspen Dental! more

remarkable 11/29/2011

I went to aspen dental in onalaska this month and had one of the best experiences! From the moment I walked in everyone was so friendly. I really felt like the Dr was looking out for what was best for me and not just about how much money she could get out of me. The dental assitant and hygienst really took the time to explain everything to me. When I got into the office managers office she was so helpful with the finaincing. Aspen dental is the only office that has helped me financially. They have so many payment options available. Thanks to the helpful staff, great dentist, and caring office manager I will be back for all of my treatment. more

In and out 11/29/2011

My visit went quickly, office staff was on top of things that day. Just a simple xray and cleaning, but you couldn't ask for much more. Hygenist was good and helpful. more

Horrible Service 11/26/2011

First of all you don't even deserve half a star. This is by far the worst dentist I have ever been to. Who wants to get x-rays while having the whole waiting room watch you. Another thing is that I sit in a chair and everyone walks by me and can see all my information on the screen and me sitting in the chair with my mouth open. To add to that, anyone sitting in the parking lot can see in through that dumb screen you have. I sat in the waiting room while only one person was there for an hour just to hear payment. Then they told me i needed something I didn't because I had another opinion. Worst Experience EVER. I cant even drive by without disgust! I wish there was more room to continue. more

don't waste your time or money 11/13/2011

I was very disappointed with my experience here and will never return. If it sounds to good to be true it is. Very rude hygienist and the use of scare statics was a very big turn off. Would not recommend to anyone. more

Long wait...but not to drill 11/11/2011

After having to wait almost forty minutes from the appointment time for my procedure to start, I was even more displeased when the dentist started to drill less than 30 seconds after administering the Novocain shots. Nothing was remotely numb yet and the drilling was met with a great deal of pain. I asked them to stop - stating that it was quite painful to which I was given two more Novocain shots but then the dentist went right back to drilling. Again I had to ask them to stop as I was not numb and I could feel everything! It was then decided to wait minute...or in reality a half minute. Everything was finished before the Novocain fully took effect making the procedure extremely uncomfortable and the entire visit from beginning to end very disappointing. more

This place is a rip-off!!! 11/4/2011

This is the worst experience I ever had at a dental office. They took all the x-rays, looked at my teeath for maybe 5 minutes and determined that I had to have over $4,000 worth of work. They did not even clean them that day as I thought they were going to. That is what I set the appointment up for. Upon finding out my old dentist took the same insurance, I went to him, only to find out that I had absolutely NOTHING wrong with my teeth. On top of that, there was NO CHARGE, my insurance covered everything more

Second Appointment 10/8/2011

My visit was fast. Office personnel were professional, my visit was painless they offer all types of comfort to you. dental work 10/5/2011

As I am in the medical field, I find it is always nice for the entire staff to introduce themselves as you work with them. I appreciate being told how they operate and what is going to happen next. That way I am not the one asking a lot of questions because I am already informed of the procedures.Every one was quite nice.I have found out that the Wisconsin dental offices/ procedures are quite different than any where I have been before in the last 59 years. I would revisit this clinic. more

Good with my kids 9/30/2011

The ladies were great with the kids. Smiling, talking to them. The kids were nervous to go in but came out happy that it wasn't bad at all. more

my last visit 9/24/2011

Let me just start by saying that I have invested thousands of dollars with Aspen Dental and I'm very unhappy. I have been going there since February of this year and I have had 3 different dentists. Sorry I cannot even give you any of their names because they never even introduced themselves to me. If I would've known from the start that they do not have a regular dentist there, I would've chose a different place. And with that said, my last visit there on Monday the 19th was the worse visit ever! That young lady dentist I had was horrible. She was NOT gentle at all, not personable at all, and I did not feel comfortable at all!!! The dental assistants have all been very nice. But I sure am one very unhappy patient that I chose Aspen Dental. But it's too late now. I've already spent thousands of dollars and plan to spend more. I just wish they would explain to you at the beginning that they do not have a more stable dental staff. more
