GLBT; BEWARE. This doc is a POSER at best, the GLBT will know what I mean. Arnecilla boasts premium patient care, tells you she is a listener and has your bests interests in mind, not the HMO's and she's is one of us and claims to identify with health concerns and lack of patient care in our community. However, my experience was anything but that. She talks the majority of the time you're there (which may only be 15 minutes), she's incredibly arrogant and defensive and gives the appearance of unprofessionalism. The wait is excruciating. The care is substandard. The office staff are lethargic and rude. I expected far better care from a small practice with a lesbian doc. The last straw was when I had an emergency and needed to see her or at the very least, talk to her on the phone about the problem. The nurse Maria who takes all of her calls told me the doc was only working a half day and couldn't tell me if I'd be able to see her or if she'd be able to call me back. Arnecilla tells her patients that if they call, they will get a response, that she always returns calls to her patients. I found out this was far from the truth. Not only was Maria unwilling to even tell me if Arnecilla would get the message, she hung up on me. The doc called back just before 5pm. Apparently Maria told her that she'd offered me a 10am appointment and that I declined. I called the office after 11am and was never offered anything. The problem is Arnecilla doesn't know that because it's impossible to get through to her without getting through Maria. This nurse outright lied to me and the doc. When the doc called back, she was only interested in defending her employee (the hanging up part). It took her 15 minutes to get around to asking why I called in the first place.\r
I can't say I was surprised. Maria never speaks to the patients and has always been rude at the office. I shouldn't have expected different on the phone. My advice: You can do better in Austin, even if the doctor is straight.
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Rude staff and doc
