Paging Doctor Disaster 10/13/2013

I am posting for my parents who used Appliance Doctor. Scheduled appointment time was revised several times which can happen, but after waiting all day, no one in the office answered the phone at 3:45 to check, when they advertise being open until 4:00pm. Very poor communication. "Our first time with Appliance Doctor will definitely be our last". more

Very Pleased 3/13/2012

I recently purchased a Bosch dishwasher from Lowes and needed warranty work done. Appliance Doctor performs warranty work for Lowes and I have to admit, after researching and reading the reviews here, I was might skeptical about having these folks come to my house. The technician had to make three trips to my house but NOT due to his failures but rather to diagnose the problems and order the needed parts from Bosch. Today he installed the parts and my dishwasher is up and running once again. The technician, Scott, was very professional and polite. The folks I spoke with on the phone were always friendly and helpful. My appointments were scheduled in a prompt manner. Perhaps they have gotten their act together since the negative reviews. I didn't have any issues with Appliance Doctor and would recommend them to others. more

RUN! Terrible Company/Rude Techs/Bad Customer Service 2/27/2012

Good: The technician that came to my house suggested that the washer and dryer be rebuild. In addition, his attitude was terrible, and it appeared he was talking down to me. He also asked me to move the washer and dryer in my garage to repair. After telling him that I would not, he got belligerent, and said that he was calling his "boss." After realizing that I do not have to put up with this type of attitude, I vehemently asked him to leave my home.. Bad: Although the washer and dryer could have been repaired in my laundry room, he insisted that he was not going to touch it until it was moved. It was obvious that he either had an issue with me or just doing his job. I, as the customer, called my warranty company to get my dryer repaired. I do not call to have the repair guy tell me that he is not going to repair my appliance until I move them when I did not even move them into my own house.. Improvements: After calling to explain to the company that I was not saitified, no one ever called me back. They appeared to not care that I had an issue, and did not care that I took my business elsewhere. No customer should have to endure the attitude that I faced from not only the tecnician, but also the manager of the company. It is obivious that this company does not really care about it customers, and if this continues, I would recommend that the warranty company not suggest them to customers for repairs.. Other: After this ordeal, I called the warranty company back, and they called out A&E Factory Service. They came out and repaired my washer and dryer without even having to move them. It appears that they are designed to be repaired in the area that they are in, because they machines are often too heavy to move. The tops come off, and the techs work on them right there. Again, this proves that the tech had a problem doing his job, and I hope that others read this review and pick another repair company.. more

From beginning to end - absolutely horrible. 9/1/2011

If I could give zero stars, I would. They promised to call with an estimate - didn't happen. They promised to call before ordering a part - didn't happen. They said they would call to before arriving at my tenant's - didn't happen. They agreed that BEFORE drafting my debit card, they would call - DID NOT happen. And, as of today 9/1/11 it has been at least 3 weeks since the repair and I had not received a physical invoice - but, they had their money. Each time I had to call them. NO one called me in any occasion. Will never use them again. more

really - Repairs?!? 3/7/2011

I sell appliances and they service my clients, here is a typical feedback: they came and looked like they just came off a bender, then they asked if I had any tools that they could use... if you need a quality repair call someone else. beware! more

Bad Experience 2/25/2011

Like others they came and they needed to order parts and charged me $60 for no work being done. They showed up 3 days later with the part and said he couldn't work on the dishwasher because water was in it. He said the office should have told you to empty the water out. (Geeze for 60 bucks you think they could do that) My wife said she would empty the water and asked if he would be back, he assured us he would return that same day. When I called the office at 3:30 I too got messsage saying the office was closed and when I tried to leave a message I got a error message saying it was an invalid response. This use to be a good company but after lying to me and my wife I say to avoid this company and take your business elswhere more

The first time they came 1 1/2 hours late. Looked at the icemaker and said they would order the 2 parts I needed. Charged $60. Second visit, installed those parts but the icemaker still didn't work. The repairman looked at me and said, "I really don't know anything about these machines." He called Jenn Air and told me he needed to order more parts. They call me back 3 days later and say they have the part and will come Friday at 1 pm to install. Third visit. They are a no show. I took today off and they didn't come or call. I called 30 times, it was busy. Then at 3:30 I got a recording saying they were closed, call back during business hours. 8 to 5 pm. Bad Company!!!! There wasn't even any room to leave a message on the machine. I am telling Jenn Air to drop them as a preferred provider and won't stop until they do. No shows or calls can not be tolerated. Unless the business blew up or something. more

The Appliance Doctor was able to work me in the next day. The Tech was really informative and had the part on his truck. I would use Appliance Doctor again and recommend this company to anyone who wants results. more

Extra friendly employees and great prices 8/19/2005

If you are ever in need of a refurbished washer or dryer- Appliance Doctor of Ladson is the place to get it. The employees there are great and will go to all means necessary to make sure you are getting the right appliance and at a great cost. There building is somewhat awkward to get to, but well worth it once you get there. I have used them a couple of times and have been nothing but satisfied every time. more
