Best

Antonios has the best Northern Italian food in Nashville. My family and friends and I eat out once or twice a week. We have a few favorite restaurants and are always on the look...

Worst

I certainly seem to disagree with others about this restaurant. I have had 2 bad experiences and my first was with the waiter opening our bottle of wine and leaving the cork in it...

Sporadic--great sometimes, poor others, gradually going downhill, sadly! 8/27/2006

I have been to this restaurant many times. In the beginning, it was impeccable in atmosphere, service, and food presentation, taste and quality. It has been going downhill steadily each time I visit. \r \r I was so pleased with it my first visit a few years ago. Steadily, it has worsened with each visit to the point of not being able to eat the food and the sketchy service making me complain (and I am an EXCELLENT tipper!)\r \r There is no dress code--meaning you can wear to McDonalds what you wear there. The atmosphere has become loud and crass. The service is mediocre. The food is getting to the point where I can't eat it any longer, it's preparation, taste and presentation is horrible. I have had the same set of waiters each time--they are very long standing employees. Each time I have gone in, the attitude is gradually getting less and less service oriented and more ""I will get to you when I feel like it."" \r \r In short, they still charge the same amount, the building and tables are the same, elegant and clean, etc. The food and the service has gone to such a poor to average experience that it is a disappointment. Hopefully, the owners will remember what made them a great restaurant in the beginning and go back to what works. O'Charley's is comparable now, sadly.\r \r If you want an elegant, romantic experience for the same price, there are many in Nashville that will please you more. Antonio's is a huge disappointment these days. \r \r Please bring it back to what it used to be!!! I miss it! Pros: Valet parking Cons: see description more

Antonio's of Nashville for special occasions. 3/9/2006

Recently, I dined for the first time at Antonio's. I was really pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meal. The service was excellent, and although there was clearly an air of formality about the place, our waiter was quick to assess that we were not formal people. He seemed to take our lack of refinement in stride though. There were older children in our party, one teen and one young teen. The younger of the two did have trouble finding something on the menu to suit him. I don't recommend taking children unless they have a more sophisticated palet than my son, who only eats pizza and chicken nuggets without argument. The desserts are expensive, but imho sooo worth the price. The atmosphere wasn't as warm as Cesar's, but the dining experience was equally pleasant for a special occasion. Shrimp Bisque=yum! Pros: Good parking, Excellent Food, Excellent Service Cons: Off the beaten path, Formal, Subdued atmosphere more

Don't waste your $$$!!! 9/15/2005

I went with a large group of people. Some 20 entrees must have been ordered. There wasn't a person at the table who was impressed with their meal. There was, however, quite quite a bit of commotion when the bills arrived! I ordered an entree salad which turned out to be the size of a side salad, a glass of wine, & a dessert-- my bill was $35! The dessert alone was $8, which they don't tell you since their dessert ""menu"" is a tray from which you make your choice. Antonio's should have 3 dollar signs on this website, not 2. And NOTHING about this place is worth all that, trust me! Cons: expensive, mediocre food more

Good food, long wait 10/14/2004

The food was wonderful if you are willing to endure the wait. Only a third of the tables were full, but there was not enough staff to serve guests. We waited about 15 minutes for drinks and bread. I can walk into any Italian restuarant in my home city and have bread on the table before my butt is in the seat. more

Wonderful- need i say more 6/18/2004

The pancetta is to die for!!! The servers are extremely nice. The early bird menu is an added surprise for arriving before 6:30. the outside patio makes for a wonderful setting if the weather is not humid. Pros: valet parking more

Just so-so 8/31/2002

In search of a good Italian restaurant in Nashville - I tried Antonios and was somewhat disappointed. The eggplant dish had way to much lemon, which gave it almost a pungent taste. The complimentary bruschetta was cold and unappitizing. However, the pasta dish with pancetta was delicious, abeit heavy. Our waiter was incredibly supercilious, and when we complained about the eggplant, he almost argued with us. Pros: Valet, Varied Menu more

WONDERFUL!! 7/23/2002

From the moment you walk in, the friendliness makes you feel as if you are in your own home... The drinks are great with a smile... But the FOOD... Outstanding!!! Probably the best steak in town and the signature shrimp cognac bisque... to die for... I have eaten here many times.. never an average experience.. always great... Jazz on thursday evenings... Take out is available, which is great if you want to go home and eat... Pros: valet parking, Intimate, friendly more
