Had a follow up scan due to an anomaly on a previous X-ray. Very professional and thorough. Instead of rushing to surgery Dr. Munne decided that we should monitor. She is very cautious - which I like very much. Wonderful staff that care about the patient. more

I look forward to the dentist now! 12/23/2015

I was referred to Dr. Munne by my dentist for severe issues with my mouth. I was incredibly nervous when I first walked into the office - now, it's like visiting friends. Maggie greeted me with a laugh and a smile, and I was assured and reassured that things would turn out all right. One thing I want to stress the importance of is that I was not left in the dark about anything. My entire treatment, from that first X-ray to today, has been filled with learning about my particular case, and it only helps me to appreciate my treatment even more. At my first consultation, Dr. Munne walked in, shook my hand, and immediately began explaining what was wrong - and then told me about the course of action we were going to take to fix it. She's incredibly professional, polite, and friendly! My cleaning was painless and I actually laughed a couple of times because of the conversation! Today, months after my first check-up, we compared my charts and I was speechless. Everyone's on the same page, ex more

I really enjoy coming here to get my teeth and gums cleaned. I have to come about 3-4 times a year and I live in California but I make it work since I like the staff here so much, especially Amanda, my dental hygienist, who is so great. She's friendly, yet professional and very gentle with my sensitive gums. Keep up the great work, everyone! :) more

  • Periodontal Disease:Periodontal or gum disease is an infection of the tissues that surround and support your teeth. Periodontal Disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in American adults. When left on the teeth, plaque, the sticky film of bacteria that is brushed and flossed away with proper oral care, produces toxins that attack below the gum line in the sulcus (a shallow v-shaped crevice between the tooth and gums), causing the bond between teeth and gums to break down. In the early stage of gum disease (gingivitis), gums may become red and swollen and bleed easily. In the more advanced state (periodontal disease), teeth can loosen and even fall out. Good oral hygiene and regular dental examinations are essential in prevention and early detection of gum disease-especially since you can have it without experiencing any warning signs.Crown Lengthening:When a tooth is fractured or decay extends below the gum line, this area must be uncovered before it can be restored for a number of reasons. In order for the gum to heal against the tooth in a healthy manner, there must be 3 millimeters of health tooth between the margin of a filling or cap and the crest of the bone which supports the tooth. This allows space for proper attachment of the gum to the tooth. After the treatment, the fractured or decayed area is uncovered and accessible to the dentist for restoration and the needed space has been established between the supporting tissues and the final position.
