Referring to their emergency care--never use this place. The vet I had was incompetent and their charges were so exorbitant. I chose to put my kitten down rather than have a start cost of $1200. They wouldn't even tell me if my kitten would survive the proposed tests. Later I learned the vet knew my kitten would not survive but would have taken me for $1200 only to give me a dead kitten. Do the vets work on commission? She just wanted $$. more

My boy with bad hips............ 4/6/2011

The staff is very friendly, caring and professional. The hospital is clean, bright and airy with lots a green plants making this place warm and inviting. There is a lounge area (comfy leather couches) which includes Free Wi-Fi for guests to use while they are waiting. My wonderful handsome 9 year old german shepherd has hip dysplasia. It's very painful to watch him suffer from this horrible disease. He is currently receiving laser therapy and acupuncture to relieve the pain. He also has nerve damage along his spine, probably from a fall. He has received a chiropractic adjustment as well. Our goal is to keep him comfortable and help lesson the pain. After the chiropractic adjustment, he acts happy - wagging his tail and seemed to be steadier on his feet. I would recommend Ann Arbor Animal Hospital for the care, dedication and love for animals. I want to mention the 24 hour Emergency is available and there is a grooming service called Groom N' Go where my handsome boy goes to get groo more

Gold Standard of Cat Care!! 2/16/2011

The staff are so very friendly and compassionate. The vets are very knowledgeable, compassionate and professional. I take my 14 year old cat to see Dr. Franklin. My kitty gets very stressed by trips to the vet so my vet has accommodated her special needs by doing as much treatment as possible with her in the carrier. She also has a complex medical history and Dr. Franklin has always been attentive and very receptive to my many questions regarding the 'why's' and 'what's' of my cat's care. I never feel rushed or silly asking questions. The vet's responses are well thought out and informative making this kitty mommy feel at ease. If you have a kitty (or dog, bunny...etc.) and don't want to worry about the standard of care being provided bring your pet here!\r \r What is also very nice is that it has emergency services in place and has veterinary care available 24/7 if needed. In addition, meds can be picked up through their drive through, very convenient. more

VERY EXPENSIVE! 2/3/2011

Nice place but VERY EXPENSIVE! All is needed was poo removed from my dog's rear. My former vet didn't even charge me for this service. Here, I had an exam fee, the fecal removal and a month's\r worth of pills and it cost about $100! I was floored, as I'm not working and times are tough. I didn't even want an exam as I knew all my dog needed was poo shaved off. I explained all of this but there was no adjustment. I liked the vet but can't afford to go back. more

This place is great. Choosing a veterinarian is like choosing a good pediatrician for your child or a geriatrician for an aging parent. My beloved 15 year old feline has been a patient at the Ann Arbor Animal Hospital since she was a baby and has had the same veternarian all this time. And now, this happy and health aging kitty can live her "golden years" in comfort. I have found the Ann Arbor Animal Hospital to be excellant in clinical care, support and good humor and I have always been treated as a co-equal in the decision making process. I am thankful they are here in our community.\r \r PS: For those seeking alternative treatment for their pets, they provide this as well. more

Greatest Animal Hospital EVER 5/24/2010

This is the most amazing place for anyone to take their pets to. We've been customers for nearly 6 years and the latest event was Wednesday 5/19/10. Our 13lb Bichon was attacked by our neighbors dog and severely injured, it was 4:00pm. We rushed her to the AA Animal Hospital, usually a 20 minute drive but of course it was rush hour traffic and 2 accidents on the expressway. She was taken in immediately by Dr. Jerrod and Dr. O'Roarke and I think every tech available. She was in surgery till 9:30pm. All the staff left at 7pm but kept calling in to see how "Sami" was doing. She made it but they had to call a 3rd surgeon in to help. She was kept in ICU for 3 days and had the best of care. We were allowed to visit every day.\r \r We have always been impressed with the hospital but this latest incident certainly made 5 stars with us. Too expensive???? I don't know, what's the price of your loved one. We actually felt the price was reasonable. Our friends in Georgia spent $9,000 more

$$$$$$$$$$$ 1/26/2010

While this is a good vet's office and we have received very good service, it is VERY expensive! We have since found another vet. Everyone wants the best care for their pets but in these times or any other I just can't afford hundreds of dollars. more

Compassionate and Competent for my 2 beloved cats 4/18/2009

I am so grateful for the entire staff at AAAH. My two cats ingested Easter Lillie leaves and flower pollen last week. This was potentially lethal. The veterinarians, vet techs and receptionist were wonderful. I was able to call day or night and visit several times a day while my cats were in the hospital. I was informed of necessary procedures, test results and conditions as needed. They were a godsend during this very difficult time for both my cats and myself. I came one day with a heavy heart thinking I may have to euthanize my one-year-old, and was relieved when two vets. came to tell me of good test results. I really believe that they too were relieved and understood my angst. Many, many thanks to everyone involved with the care of my two beloved cats. I am grateful that our community has the AAAH. more

Outstanding 12/4/2008

The AAAH has been the veterinarian of choice for my family for 37+ years. They are miracle workers from the minute you walk in the door, until you walk out. This year has been a difficult one for me as I have a 3 year old cocker spaniel who has been diagnosed w/ liver disease.... I didn't have much hope she would pull thru, and be able to live a 3 year old puppy lifestyle. AAAHA has knowledge, experience, faith, love that has beat the odds, my best friend is on a daily medicine routine, and you would never know she has liver disease. Everyone @ AAAH is truly a blessing for my best friend & myself. more

Great ER! 7/20/2008

Over the past few years I have had to take my cats (and my mother's cats) to AAAHER. Each time I have been extremely impressed. They have diagnosed my cats in a reasonable amount of time, and treated them very quickly. The staff is always competent and caring. During my most recent I had to leave my cats for 24 hour observation, I called every 3 hours to see how they were doing; each time I called I talked with a vet tech or a doctor who answered my every question. \r AAAHER is not cheap, however, neither is the regular ER. \r I strongly recommend AAAHER for any urgent pet care. more

Best in Ann Arbor 10/5/2005

I have been taking my eldery cat to this vet for 5 years. They are extremely caring, affordable and you don't need an appointment. They also have late hours, after hours and are open on Saturday. I can't say enough good things about them - all of the vets are wonderful and the staff is great as well. more

Ann Arbor Animal Hospital 7/5/2005

Unfortunately, my doggie was hit by a car last week and I was in a panic. It was after normal vet. hours, so I went to the Animal Hospital on Liberty Street. The staff was wonderful, the office call was only $40, and the vet drew up an estimate of the procedures that we could do, but left it up to me, as to what I wanted to proceed with. She wasn't pushy, very informative and left it up to us as to what we wanted to do with our doggie. Thank goodness nothing major was wrong and we went home with some meds and the doggie is doing great now. I really liked this animal hospital, very clean, easy parking and great staff! PROS: Friendly Staff, great prices, easy parking CONS: more
