Animal Hospital of Verona

Although they are wonderfully nice people and I'm sure they are great with cats and dogs, I would not recommend bringing your reptile to them. My concern was a lump on the leopard gecko's stomach, and the vet didn't even notice there was a lump until I pointed it out to him. I also asked him questions that a vet who has any knowledge of reptiles should know, like: What is the best substrate to house them on? Can they get parasites? What is the treatment for impaction? And the only answer I got was "I'm not sure, I'll have to call Dr. Hooke at Arbor Ridge Clinic". This was very disappointing, and a complete waste of $37. I eventually went to Arbor Ridge Pet clinic and had a wonderful experience. more

When I was moving to the Madison area eleven years ago, I asked my vet in Green Bay to locate a good vet clinic I could take my dogs to for care. She did some research and recommended the Animal Hospital of Verona. So, I have been coming to AHOV ever since then, and have been most happy w/ the care my dogs have received. I have dogs that come from rescue - all with medical problems. Dr. Voss and Dr. Smith are great w/ my boys, listen to my concerns and address the issues. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I highly recommend them! more

I've always got some weird situation going on where I have to make special arrangements to get my pets to the vet - either I have to drop them off early or pick them up late or send someone else with them. AHOV is very accommodating to me and always super helpful about this. They've also been amazing at working me in on the last minute or letting me drop an animal off on a doc's surgery day.\r \r I've seen several of the doctors, Barney Smith is the one I usually see for my exotics. I've been more than happy with the care he's provided for my guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds. The only thing I wish is that he'd be more aggressive with diagnostics when the problem isn't an obvious one - I don't tend to come in with obvious problems! However, I don't consider this a failing at all - most people DON'T want the doctor to recommend $500 of tests right off the bat - and Dr Smith has always been more than happy to do more testing when I ask for it. We have been using AHOV for over 10 years. We were there when Dr Gangler was the lead Doctor. He is still there working as the dental specialist while he is an Asst Dean of the Vet school at UW Madison. I think we have used all the doctors at the clinic and find them to be world class. The support staff is also the best we have found. If you care about your animals as much as I do you want only the best care for them. That is what we have found at AHOV. more

We think highly of Verona animal Hospital, while we lived in Verona, Dr Christopher Voss was our vet, our dogs enjoyed seeing Dr Voss, he takes time with you,listens to your concerns, you dont feel like your being rushed. The front staff is also very friendly, your calls are returned promptly, highly recommend more
