Huge joke, Do not know how they can use emergency In their name. Was told there was an hour wait so after an hour and a half ash how soon? Was told there are two more dogs ahead of me. If my dog Is going to die I want It to be at home not In their waiting room. Avoid this place like the black death. more

Yes I am writing this so others that are concerned for there animals will not come to this emergency clinic. The people in here are heartless. I ask many of questions and they had the wrong information. Plus $860.00 later picked my cat up at 7am because they were closing had to take my cat to the vet from there and the vet will have my cat till Friday 3 days more. When I picked up my cat he was so upset not calm at all. For the money I paid and was told they would keep my cat comfortable. He was not at all. When I arrived at the Clinic at 7am to pick him up had to ring a bell and the lady that opened the door looked like she just woke up. Not professional at all. Please if you ever need a animal hospital please take your animal to a loving Hospital in Largo on Belcher road. They will treat your animal with love I was so far but next time if any I will travel the distance. I love my animal and dont ever want anyone to go through what I had to. Please take the time to read and dont go TO ANIMAL EMERGENCY CLINIC OF ST. PETERSBURG. Have a Blessed Day love your Animals today. more

I brought my 7 month old puppy in last 6/2/2012

I brought my 7 month old puppy in last night for an infection in his paw that suddenly started and became pretty severe quickly. We just moved to Florida a week ago, so we haven't established at a vet as of yet. The staff at the Animal Emergency Clinic got us in quickly and we saw the doctor within 10 minutes of arrival! They were all very caring and explained everything clearly. Dr. Brauer was very knowledgeable and I trusted her right away to take care of my ""fur-child."" He needed to be sedated to have the infection in his foot drained and was given a shot of antibiotics as well. The entire process took less than two hours from the time I entered the door to the time I was driving away. The prices were also very reasonable from my experience. They did a wonderful job caring for Winston! This morning he woke up feeling so much better and is running around like his old self :) I would recommend this facility without reservation. more

I like them 5/13/2012

Just left the clinic an hour ago which would be 9:30a.m. on 5-13. Took my 10+yr. old cat in because he quit eating 3 days ago, and he was throwing up. Tried to syringe feed him on Sat at 5:15 with baby food but threw that up along with the water. I knew if I had waited til Mon. to take him to my vet he would had been much worse off. I had walked into the clinic at 8:30, was immediately greeted and put into a room within 15 minutes. I filled out paper work and after the tech came back and took my papers the doctor came in maybe 20 minutes later. Dr. Demirjian was very sweet, she checked at Pooh(my cat) an tried to assess his situation w/o doing blood work at that moment. She explained 2 options which was the blood work with the total work up. Or to give him fluids for his dehydration and injections to settle his stomach. I decided to go with option #2 since I will be seeing my vet early a.m. tomorrow. I feel for the time and the money I had spent along with the prompt service from the time I walked in and until I left it was worth the $216.00 that I really didn't have, but I would do anything.......anything for my 3 cats and 15yr. old dog because they are the children I never had. And I know they'd do the same if I was in their position......So, thank you Animal Emergency, the staff, and the doctor for making my cat more comfortable and for making me feel at more ease so I can go ahead and enjoy my Mother's Day........Sincerely, Rebecca Cregar more

I'm calling B.S. on the 2 positive reviews here, I think they're written by the employees themselves. This place is the absolute worst clininc I've ever had the misfortune of going to. My experience was the same as all the other reviews. The tech pulled my cat from the carrier, no compassion. I know I was being emotional but if you're going to work in this type of environment, at least PRETEND to care. The doctor with the nose ring came in and took my cat into another room to administer oxygen. I asked if I could come back and at least be in the room with my animal while they were giving the oxygen-at this point I was afraid my pet might die and die alone-and they flatly refused. While waiting a stray cat walked into the exam room, I tried finding somebody to inform them and walked in their back offices which were dingy and was unable to find anyone. A few moments later I informed someone about the wandering cat and they said "oh yeah we have some here". I dont know if that is normal o more

Wouldn't Go Back 8/14/2006

I took my cat to this vet after a referral. I had been to 2 or 3 vets before this and all gave differing diagnoses. While holding my frightened kitty, she urinated on my lap. The doctor took a sample from the pooled urine on my skirt! Then they came back 2 minutes later with an off-the-wall diagnosis. Then left the room and came back 2 minutes later with another off-the-wall diagnosis. Who takes a urine sample like that?\r \r It doesn't need to be said, but I will never go back to that office nor would I refer anyone there. more

Emergency Services (only) 6/26/2006

Better known as "Animal Emergency Clinic" in the yellow pages and on the building - finally painted after umpteen years! It's old, the rooms don't have bells & whistles, but it's been in business for a long time. That's what they are. 24 hour services for emergencies only. I've had to visit a couple of times. The care has been adequate, they never seem overly friendly, but then again, you only see them occasionally and don't develop a relationship. Kind of like the ER for people, you wait a while and it's a bit pricey. But...when you need an emergency vet - it's there and open and there is something to be said for that. I took a feral stray that was hit by a car on Easter Sunday a.m. more
