\r I have been to this facility more than once. I had an excellent experience. However, reading other people reviews about them being a scam, baffle me. IF, you don't want to ever have a vet bill, don't get a pet. Simple enough. People think they get a break on medical supplies, they pay the same as human medical facilities do. I work in medical sales. I know this for a fact. I highly recommend them. I highly respect this place. more

To the Doctor at AEC, our family wanted to say thank you for taking care of our Boxer Zoe. We came in this weekend and you were very busy. You went above and beyond and truly cared for her and our family. We will never be able to thank you enough. Thank you for all you do. more

To the doctors and the wonderful staff at the Animal Emergency Center. We would like to thank you for doing everything you could to save our little girl Chloe. We didn’t get to have her as long as we wanted, but they can’t live forever. We appreciate everything you did to help us during this transition. We couldn't thank you enough. We recommend you to any one with an after hour emergency! more

I love this place. I also love reading how other people think free medical services should be given to pets just because they are animals. We all love animals but these hospitals have to still pay for everything to have ON HAND in case of an emergency. They stay awake all night and dismiss holidays to stay at the clinic incase we need them. Yet people still want to complain. IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD A PET DO NOT GET ONE! more

Your beloved pet will die here! Called and asked if they had poisonous snakebite treatment. Yes was the answer. Took my dog in and spent ~ 1 hour listening to cost/signing paperwork of cost (already had account there for same dog). Eventually, they took dog in back to work on him (several staff come in and out every 5 minutes, usually about $ and always closing doors behind them). Finally, dr tells us they have no poisonous snakebite treatment. Dog now is barely breathing, shaking and cannot stand. Dr said she was filling in for regular dr and didn't know the treatment was out of stoke. She was the same dr I took same dog to this place ~ 2 months ago. Asked about another nearby emergency clinic. The entire staff said they didn't know of any! Took dog to another emergency clinic (thanks to search engine), that dr said his staff and this place share snakebite treatment necessities regularly. \r \r Don't take your pet here! more

This place is a money-sucking scam 4/30/2012

They are just there to take as much of your money as they can, without ever telling you the truth. I brought it a very old dog who was very sick and in a lot of pain. First, they trued to charge me $700 for XTRAYS AND BLOOD WORK. I asked what they would do after the testing and they said "give her fluids and painkillers". I assumed my dog could get better and paid $300 for these treatments. Only seven hours later my dog is feeling worse. These people should have JUST TOLD ME SHE WAS BEYOND SAVING AND DID THE ONLY HUMANE THING. Instead, they tried to take me for $1000+ then took as much from me as they could and still left my dog to suffer and me to deal with it. Pros: null Cons: null more

Horrible Experience 10/6/2011

I have personally visited this clinic multiple times for emergencies in the middle of the night. The first two experiences were great; friendly staff, great service and I was in and out of the clinic within the hour. However, I only gave this clinic a 1 star rating because over a Memorial Day weekend, my newest kitten of the family got sick. He was vomiting, not eating, crying in pain and I took him back to a place that I could trust. After a x-ray and consult with an outside radiologist, we determined my kitten had eaten a foreign object, which would require exploratory surgery. Just to be clear, I understand the risks of surgeries like this, I had already been through the same experience with another cat just a year prior to this. So, no big deal, left my new kitten in the hands of this clinic and waited to find out what had he eaten and that he was safely out of surgery. Got a phone call stating he was out of surgery, did okay and had eaten yarn. The next morning, because they closed at 7am, picked up my baby, IV in and all to transfer him for treatment and observation at my regular vet who reopened after the holiday weekend. Two days later, my kitten required a second surgery because he was not acting normal and still seemed "off". When my vet opened up the fresh incision, he found that the doctor at THIS emergency vet clinic did NOT close up the internal abdominal wall causing all my kittens intestines to be bulge out. This is not just a "Ooops he has a small hernia" - the vet was negligent and did not close my kittens stomach up. He could have had parts of his bowel die, gotten a serious infection or even died. This was not just a simple mistake, but a huge error on this emergency clinic. We tried to get a refund, the manager would not work with us to refund us the cost of either the first or second surgery even with pictures and surgical notes about what my vet had found. The vet who did the surgery, never called to apologize and was honestly a bit of a jerk to me when I went in there. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone, especially for something as serious as this. more

Worst er 5/8/2011

wORST EXPerience evr!!! Do not come to this vet! Our little dog was sick and we took him out of the er because it was getting extremely expensive . We brought him here to have a second opinion. It was even more expensive that the place we were before so we decided to go somewhere else. The vet barely see him and we had to pay the nearly $100. I asked for a conclusion of her examination. She wrote four lines not even four lines. 2 word for each line. The swipped my car and before I signed my receipt I asked for a better examination document. The didn't want to give me my credit card nor all his previous blood test and X-rays for the previous er. At the end the nurse throw the stuff at me. The cd was on the floor and he just walked away. We weren't even talking to her and I was about to sign the receipt. so rude and unnecessarily I was asking for what I paid for. more

Try to find somewhere else take your pet 4/4/2011

The worst experience with vet EVER!Very rude people, all about the money,dirty..They make you wait in the room for ever being busy chating on the back.We paid so much for them to do nothing at all.We ended paying an other vet again to make our cat well..Even when we called them to ask something for the medicine they gave us they were so rude and wanted to make us go back to see him again to take the money..All about the money, they don t even care about your pet. more

The best in the area!! 2/15/2011

I was so very pleased with all the help I had from the staff and doctors at the Animal Emergency Center. My dog swallowed chocolate and they were on top of what to do and not to do. I was absolutely freaking out over him eating so much. Plus he had ingested some of the wrappers. I left him there over night and by morning he was back to normal! Thanks to everyone at AEC for being such a big help! more

Complications of Heat Stroke 1/26/2011

The heatstroke pet (reviewer Jayne Ruzicka) had already been under treatment for heat stroke for several hours at its regular veterinarian and unfortunately had shown signs of a deadly complication of heat stroke prior to its arrival at our hospital. Once this complication occurs (DIC, inability of the blood to clot) there is little chance of survival. This patient was not charged an exam charge and was not charged an emergency fee. Treatment was performed but the seriousness and prognosis were what we were trying to discuss with the owner. When pets become part of our family sometimes it is impossible to believe that something as simple as being overheated at a pet park could have complications that are deadly. We did everything that could be done but everything was not enough. We wish every pet could be saved from the complications of heat stroke. H. Tabbenor DVM, owner more

Worst Pet Hospital 12/10/2010

I lost my baby in this hospital all because she was with a friend and we had her take her there from the Banfield Hospital when they closed. This Hospital on Lake Underhill would not do anything with Sasha for an hour untill we got there with a credit card and this was vital time to save her life. She was suffering heat stroke and they wouldn't do anything for her until we came and showed that we could PAY for it!!!! How sick is that. Than we told them to do anything, EVERYTHING they could to save her life and heal her and we received a call which we didn't get at that moment and called them back within a minute of the time and they informed us that she went into cardiac arrest, did we want to resuscitate her... DUH!!! Did we not inform you to do anything, YES, we want you to resuscitate her. She was gone, not even 2 yet for another month. How sad!!! My heart broke. They didn't do enough for her and wasted a lot of time. Please do not take your loved one there, there are many more in the area!!! more
