I went to Angelina's (Ellis St. location) last night with my wife and another couple, and I will never return. We were treated very rudely. I had been to Angelina's once before a few months ago. The food was pretty good, although it was not worthy of the very high prices. This is Staten Island after all, not Manhattan. The beautiful decor and the live music made us want to try it one more time though. We made an 8:00 reservation, arrived on time, and were told that our table was not ready. While we waited, we saw numerous people leave, but we were still not shown to our table. Another couple walked in after us, and they were promptly seated at a table for 4. Not to mention that there were two other tables for 4 open the entire time we waited. We assumed they were being held for friends of the owner. We were generally ignored by the hostess the entire time we waited. At 8:30, we asked about our table, and were told that it would be a few more minutes. Let me remind you that we didn't just walk in. We had a reservation for 8:00. Why take reservations if you cannot honor them? Finally, at 8:45 we asked again about our table. The hostess responded that they can't control when people leave and offered us a bread basket. A bread basket. Not only had we been waiting 45 minutes for a table that we had reserved, but the best they could do to accommodate us was to offer something that was going to be placed on our table once we sat down anyway. I have never experienced such poor customer service. We left after receiving this highly insulting response and went to another restaurant. The hostess didn't seem to care either. Unless you know the owner, be prepared to overpay for your food while being served (or not served) by an arrogant staff.
Cons: Overpriced food, rude staff, reservations mean nothing unless you know the owner.
